Well, the economy isn’t something I necessarily blame the Biden administration before. We’re in a very rare and uncharted circumstance where we’re coming off of a global pandemic, so we’d almost certainly be in tough shape one way or another. If it’s happening almost everywhere else, that should illustrate that the problem isn’t unique to America.

All that said, I don’t really think the average citizen is smart/informed enough to realize that, and is much more likely to be caught up in political rhetoric and conspiracy theories they’ve been exposed to that are designed to spin any event to place blame directly at the feet of Biden and his administration. People are just kind of dumb and the moderate ones will be like “durrrr, there are problems in life and currently the president is Democrat, so if I vote for a Republican the problems will go away!” Then you get 4-8 more years of problems, new ones or ones that are generally the same as the old ones, and the same idiots go “durrrrr, there are problems in life and currently the president is a Republican, so if I vote for a Democrat, the problems will go away!”, and we go on and on and on. And then the rest of the idiots have already chosen a side, they probably won’t be swayed, their personality and self-identity is too wrapped up in their politics, they’ve committed to it too much to consider wavering.

So, if it’s Biden vs Trump, first off, I’ll be shocked if he’s not knee-deep in a Department of Justice investigation or trial, or maybe even done with it already, and I’ve just seen way too much in support of what I already thought about his role in the Jan. 6th fiasco in the congressional hearings to think that he’ll walk away from that clean, if it happens, that’s the big question. But I think Trump has lost a lot of support and really just has the Trump Zombies in his corner. Most reasonable Republicans I know don’t think you can successfully run Trump again. If this does go to trial, the testimonies we’ve heard will be re-testified under the same under-oath conditions as the hearings. The difference will be cross-examination, but the Trump legal team would have a very tall task of discrediting every one of these witnesses and proving beyond reasonable doubt that they all had an agenda or vendetta they actively sought to carry out. Highly unlikely. It’s been two years and still no evidence that’s stood up in a court of law, even presented to republican judges, some of whom Trump appointed himself. Beyond some fugazi documentary circulating that doesn’t seem to have any validity, there’s just nothing there. Like the White House lawyer guy, Herschmann, he was asking the same questions most of us were asking during Trump’s fraud claims “Ok, so where’s the evidence?” After a bunch of clumsy excuses, they said the “corrupt” judges wouldn’t allow the evidence, and again, same thing I’m thinking, Herschmann said, “ALL of them? ALL sixty-something judges are corrupt? Even the ones we appointed?” Giuliano talking about “we don’t have evidence but we have a lot of theories”…. bro, I can’t. I just can’t give my time on this earth to entertain this obvious nonsense. And the most suspect parties won’t even testify, or are pleading the 5th, something which Trump is previously on record saying “only the mob does that.” I understand the hearings and investigation aren’t seeking to exonerate Trump, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the findings and the testimonies are untrue.

So I guess what I’m saying is that if Biden wins vs Trump in ‘24, I’m surprised Trump won the nomination regardless of if he gets formally charged or convicted, I think his image is taking a hit in all of this. Reasonable people will see him for the con artist he is. Many loyalists may simply have to acknowledge that he’s lost too much support to be run against an incumbent president, and just find another candidate. But if it actually was Biden vs Trump, I would believe the results, but I would be somewhat shocked and disappointed that enough people would still vote for Trump after everything he seems to have done. I would think Americans had lost their souls and sense of decency, frankly. A better candidate could definitely challenge and possibly beat Biden, but if Trump beat him, I would probably assume their was just an apathetic attitude amongst democrat voters and there was a low turnout.

But regardless of all that, things are different now, it’s not just “oh, maybe this non-career politician who is already an American celebrity could run and win”, we’ve already seen that with Reagan, and in gubernatorial races with guys like Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura. Now it’s a case of “this guy claimed fraud, but it turned out that was actually him COMMITTING fraud, or at least attempting to, all in an attempt to retain a presidency he had fairly lost, so is it really safe for our democracy to have a leader with that proven propensity for mischief?” I don’t want to be overly dramatic and say he was trying to become dictator of America, but I think he wanted to override the apparent will of the people and serve a second term, I think for his own ego and legacy as much as anything else, to not be deemed an unsuccessful one-term president.
