On a serious note, it's climate change - 100%. When nature gets out of whack, every single person on the planet will be affected. Instead of being a real wake-up call, people are listening to bullshit theories to explain away human influences on the global environment. 80% of the world STILL depends on fossil fuel.

If you're in the USA, the first real issue has emerged in the west. Lakes Mead and Powell are at 30% capacity. The Colorado River is in the midst of a 16 year extended drought with no end in sight. Just to give you an idea of how important that river is:

Add to this, the lack of desalinization plants and plans for new ones. Instead, most right wingers bitch about the oil pipeline being halted and the "jobs" it cost. But instead of pouring BILLIONS of dollars into that, and oil, which just perpetuates the problem, it should be spent on REAL alternative solutions. Off shore wind and electricity generation is a huge missed opportunity right now.

My point is, if your world (read: environment) isn't livable and sustainable, nothing else matters at all.
