She does not have to have a family. She has chosen Not the thing before her (Tennis) and in that determination, at its crux, made a Choice.
Sex nor Gender has anything to do with retirement. Both men and women retire from Work. Working women have children and families as do Same have Grandchildren.
The question, in my view, does not withstand simple and logical comparative exampling. The question must be applicable to all like Retirement and Family questions. Physical sporting does not have to be stopped. Look at the Olympiad athletes with families.

Women have/get to carry pregnancy and give birth.
Men don’t/can’t do it.
