In my country from decades doesn’t exist any best candidate, since usually candidates are really the crap of the Earth. Plus our electoral system allow the voters to vote for parties and express a preference for the candidate premier but it isn’t guaranteed that candidate will be the real premier, since are parliament members that elect him… it’s done in order to avoid the arise of a single man dominating all (but it happens equally).
So in general I choose between parties, by political programs… there’s no one I align really with, I only try to choose those who seem to harm the less.
I usually wind up voting Constitution Party. Even if I know far too many Americans have never heard of it or its platform. If none are available on a ballot, I quickly research who is running as a Republican, and their record. If they seem trustworthy, I vote for them. If not, I vote Libertarian. In many districts, it'll be a cold day in Hell before I even consider a Democrat! They've consistently been nothing but destructive!
What's the point of voting if you don't vote for someone you agree with? I understand if you don't find a candidate you don't 80% agree with but at least make it 60-70%. It's the future of your country, you don't want clowns running it more than there already are.
The best candidate for sure. I don't care about parties. If I lived in the US, I'd vote for either Tulsi Gabbard or Ron DeSantis, because I can't think of any others who are actually any good. Trump is too old, Biden is senile, Harris is a cackling hyena.

If you vote for the best candidate you're bound to lose.
Few if any of the final candidates are your best possible option.
Primary parties serve extremist interests exclusively, because most voters are extremists.
Moderates are the majority as few are singularly-minded.
Moderates lack representation in every election.
Extremists believe stopping the opposition is better than supporting what they believe.
Extremists always vote along party lines.
Best available. I’m a registered Independent, so I don’t technically have a “party line”, haha. I usually just don’t even vote, as I’m not that committed to American politics, or even America OR politics independently. I usually just come out for egregious “holy fuck, not on my watch” situations like Trump running for office lmao. I couldn’t just sit idly by for that one😂
So you have no regrets about your decision?
@WhiteBoyChill My regrets are more along the lines of “THESE are our options? SERIOUSLY?”, lmao. Embarrassing that we have all these empty suit politicians, and then when we go and break from that routine, we get a narcissistic shady businessman/wannabe insult comic. And now the flood gates are open, so who knows what looney toon celebrities will get wheeled out in the future. Can’t wait for Whoopi Goldberg vs Kid Rock or some shit in a few years😵🔫
Our economy would be in better shape right now if Trump was president. Just saying.
I only vote for candidates i know. Party only became relevant when i realized the democripps and rebloodlicans were the problem. So i always avoid voting for either of those parties, to the point of abstention if necessary. Straight party voters are morons, to the last.
I was a party-member and now I'm an Independent. I've always voted for the candidate that is most inline with my views. Sometimes, that means I'm voting for the candidate that I know will lose, and sometimes I don't vote for an office if none of the candidates support my views. Voting is not a popularity contest.
Sine 2016, lesser of two evils. I only voted against Trump in 2016, because I didn't know what he'd be like as POTUS. I knew what I'd get with Hillary. In 2020 I voted for Biden because I didn't like how Trump dealt with COVID-19. January 6 told me to never vote for him or his crowd EVER again.
It used to be for the person that seemed the best, but in these times, any vote for Democrats is a vote against America, against Christians, against the Constitution, against individual rights, FOR racism against Whites and Asians.
I will vote against any RINOs in primaries though.
You have to consider cabinet members and appointees too.
Democrats won't appoint republicans and visa versa, so even if you hate your party's candidate it's not a good idea to vote for the other party's, because then you'll get a whole lot of nut cases from the wrong party in very powerful and important roles
I vote for the best acceptable candidate. If there isn't one I do write-in. If write-in is not available I leave that race blank. I will not knowingly vote for a totalitarian wannabe.
Best candidate. I lean right right now or independent. I have voted democrat in past.
I'm an independent, and try to find candidates who are best for the job rather than voting along a party line.
I go for best candidate available. Most of the time that is a Republican, but a reasonable Democrat could be an ok option if they can keep the dumbest ideas of their party in check.
No. Trump stopped party preference. I vote for who I think is best to do the job.
In the past for the best candidate. However, with one party becoming so radically left and corrupt, I am tempted to vote straight party for the other party.
Best candidate.
I don't care right or left. Either do what's best for me or the country.
if people voted for the best candidate and not buy parties then the politicians would start working for us and not their party
In my opinion, most of the best candidates are along party lines to begin with.
I have voted “one party” when in a hurry. But i try…try…to know the candidates.
People always say they vote for the candidate and not the party but the candidate gets elected and votes along party lines every single time.
Best candidate which has been a Republican whenever I have voted. I would vote for any candidate I felt was the best regards less of political party.
The best candidate but they usually are not democrats.
