Honestly if it isn't a stun gun, pepper spray or a real gun, you may as well not even bother. Very few women can take on a man in a bare hand fight, even if they do have these things. Your just as likely to put yourself in more danger by trying to punch a guy with brass knuckles, because that shit is going to mess your fist up so bad.
It's sad to see how much girls are affraid to walk alone outside without thinking that their lives is in danger every moment!
I believe that real men will make women feel comfortable walking outside alone cause such men will treat women as if they are their sisters or girlfriend or wife or mother or daughter!
God gave the power to men so they raise a woman, take good care of her, feed her and to protect her!
Some males uses this gift for negative things such as hurting a woman or killing her or raping her!
I agree that it's sad that so many women genuinely feel that way. It's usually women who live in bad area or women who have been through trauma that feel that way. I can't even think of a time I was genuinely afraid though. Having a gun or pepper spray is just as much for a mean dog as anything else, and is just a precaution for me rather than from actual concern.
A gun is the best defence a woman can have against a male assailant. Anything relying on physical strength will probably endanger you more than help you
Yes they are helpful but pepper spray is a must coz you would have to go near the person to use weapon but with pepper spray you can use it from a distance and run away
Im gonna tell you right now you hit someone with brass knuckles it will hurt your hand your better off learning to throw a good punch and if anything a roll of pennies or a roll of nickles will usually prevent you from breaking your hand but i would not carry something that could potetiallybe used on me if thing went south
You have to be prepared to use them and preemptively in most cases. Bad guys win most of the time because they know they are going to attack you and you don't.
For a long time in close quarter combat there are only three strikes before incapacitation or significant injury.
You might hurt someone with those weapons but you might make them angry enough to hurt you worse.
Most of those wouldn't be useful, but a taser/stun gun can be just because it makes a loud crackling sound and they can see the electricity so many casual crooks would back off.
They have the potential to be helpful but a lot of women choose flight when it comes to the fight or fight response. They just freeze.
The sad thing is companies are making fortunes off of women who are scared for their safety, when fortunes should be spent on systems that would ensure that women don't need the special safety equipment to begin with.
in violence we dont usually freeze, with direct violence at least, most people freeze from a situation that isn't direct violence, at least if its not rape, if someones going violent, i flail or go all out.
@marshalllaw706 it's good to know that you can handle yourself but unfortunately in my friend group everytime we're met with a dangerous guy (s)/situation they always freeze. Only me and one other girl has to defend ourselves and the group, or even tell the rest of the group to run.
The reason for that is growing up we had to literally fight to survive (from petty robberies to potential human trafficking) so we got used to it.
No and many of those weapons are totally banned such as brass knuckles. Pepper spray is useless against a man full of adrenaline.
All research shows that women most of the time don't do well when relying on any sort of martial arts. If your method of self-defense depends on pain to stop your attacker, you can't depend on it. There was a big mouth MMA female fighter in my area who picked a fight with a scrawny man only to get her ass beat and raped. Use a gun.
Yes to a degree but to be honest if you're at the point where you need them ied say you're already too late. And if theyve got a gun theyre almost useless. Depends on how close they get. But the aim is never to let them get that close. Limit your exposure to those situations. I actually have a self defense class i teach but its much more than fighting. Fighting is the last resort. Avoiding the situation is the goal.
Pepper spray is #1. Bear in mind that - on a good day - women have about 50% strength of men. In most cases they have a fraction of the "combat" experience of men. They cannot hold their own toe-to-toe. Best option is to have a distance weapon that will incompacitate her attacker so she can flee. Soak him in the eyes thoroughly and run. Apologies if this sounds sexist, but its true.
Lol those would be useless. I mean unless you had a little training in martial arts or something most people donât know how to throw a proper punch. Besides what would you do if someone grabbed you from behind? Or came at you w a gun or knife? Maybe a gun if youâre willing to carry one. But even than things could go south quick.

I definitely agree will most likely carry both depending on where I'm going
Yes they are helpful but pepper spray is a must coz you would have to go near the person to use weapon but with pepper spray you can use it from a distance and run away
Yess pepper spray is a no brainer so I didn't even include it. I carry that on me in my car and stroller everywhere I go
Im gonna tell you right now you hit someone with brass knuckles it will hurt your hand your better off learning to throw a good punch and if anything a roll of pennies or a roll of nickles will usually prevent you from breaking your hand but i would not carry something that could potetiallybe used on me if thing went south

I got arrested for having brass knuckles on me Lmfao everything else has been fine. Used them when I was bartending

They will not help you safe but possession of some of them will get you arrested (brass knuckles)
They are fine in my state if open carried
wow - where do you live?
North carolina. We have the same law for guns. It's open carry with no permit. If they have a permit I believe both can be concealed carry
The South. Not surprising. They still won't help you. Use your feet instead.
No because if u use one on a âsuspected suspectâ and it turns out he wasnât a rapist⌠then u should be behind bars
Well obviously gotta use them responsibly
True true
Yes, unless that person has a gun. The way I see it, unless you also have a gun, youâre fucked if the other person does
Id sugest you pepper spray as its like ranged and you can use it before a guy gets close to you

Yes those are good except the kitty rings I dont think those will do anything.
The rings will poke the skin
Well there ya go. Be safe you poor baby <3
A stun gun would be better that way you can shock him and mace
I've used the stun gun on myself and honestly it's not as painful as you might think. The mace tho for sure is helpful to keep someone away
Oh wow then maybe a taser
Yeah tasers are way more intense but hard to find. And from what I've seen on the cop shows sometimes they fail đŁ
Hmmm ok
Pepper spray is #1.

Not sure why everyone's assuming that women have to protect themselves from men. I've had more issues with women then I ever had with men

1. Second Amendment, if you live in the United States.
2. Become a serious student of a martial art.
maybe a stun gun but the rest are weapons that have to be used in close proximity to the attacker. Not an ideal situation.
