Curious... in my area are many Ukranian and Russian people. Are you all getting along given the war going on in your native countries? I wonder if there are tensions outside the areas of fighting.

I know a Ukrainian girl (blonde) and Russian girl (brunette) back home in the US. As far as I understand, most Russian-Americans are super-ashamed of their country right now and hate Putin and sympathize with the Ukrainians, and the Ukrainians don't blame them. Even most Russians in Russia didn't want this war or their economy to go to sh*t with sanctions.
So I don't think there's any tensions. Russian-Americans seem to side with Ukraine.
I once had a Ukrainian girl and a Chinese one living under the same roof as me. They instinctively knew their own country's governments were badong on many issues, and not to trust the other's. But they weren't in those countries. They were in mine. And they both knew that one or the other wasn't a spy.
So they blew off the politics, and became like sisters.

Yep so I said they are brother and sister you dont believe me. You still see then as international nationism
I am worrying about it between taiwan and china too.
yes they are all relatives. as well... most of us are... relatives. it's crazy emotions at work.
Since the media in the United States is not propaganda for the most part, the people here know the truth about what is really going on. They know that this is all Putin and not the average Russian person. There is no need to hate the other side because they are not for this war. It's the people in Russia who are exposed to propagate who think that Putin is protecting the country against NATO and other parts of the world. They are the ones who are against Ukrainians.
I used my own brain. I'm not gullible. Nobody "told" me not to trust msm. I've seen it over and over and over for myself. And it's hilarious that they are the ones telling their followers not to trust any other sources. They essentially say, "Don't think. We'll do that for you. Just believe us. We wouldn't lie to you."
The two least credible sources of information are government and corporate media. So I do lots of research. Research requires discernment - the ability to tell what is plausible and what is bullshit. I don't jump to conclusions. Instead of "beliefs", I formulate opinions that can be revised as more information becomes available. I look for documentation, not opinion or anonymous sources.
I don't care about political ideology, partisan politics, or consensus. I look for verifiable facts. Msm works diligently to create the illusion of consensus by sticking to the official narrative and blocking any information that doesn't fit the narrative, no matter how credible.
@Lliam The mainstream media has lost its credibility. I definitely agree with that. Trust in the government depends on the country. But you should never trust it 100% of the time no matter what. The best thing to do is grab information from multiple credible sources and then use your own brain to make your decision or analysis. But you can't rely only on your brain. If I had no access to information then I would not know there is a war going on. It's not happening in front of my eyes. I need someone to tell me about it. Get what I mean?
You never mentioned your sources. Hope it's not this website.
That last line was hilarious. Anyone who relied on GAG for information for news and information would be in trouble, wouldn't they? LOL Not that I don't run across interesting things on GAG from time to time.
I agree with what you just said. So maybe I'll put it this way. I look at all msm combined as one source. Other than bickering about political parties and identity politics, it's unified around the official, globalist narrative.
So msm is one. And then there are all the many other, separate, independent sources.
Social media giants have become ideological and try to silence information that they don't want people to hear, but information is still there if you know where to look. You can't find much truth by googling, but the internet is still the only way to get facts and worthwhile ideas.
I don't ever sit down and watch a news program. I read and watch various sources on individual issues, much of it global.
I'm Fascibuch friends with a few dozen amazing people - independent journalists, authors, academics, researchers, and citizens in other countries.
I get email notifications with links to articles from various publishers, bloggers, and organizations that I followed after they got deplatformed.
Some of my personal friends are very smart and informed. They can be great sources of information, too.
All these sources give me information that I can research further.
To give one example of an org that I think epitomizes good journalism, I'd name Global Research. I don't read all their articles, but I do find them to be generally excellent. I've purchased some books published by them, too.
Okay. Sounds cool. I get most news from online and podcasts.
For left-leaning news I go to NPR and PBS.
For neutral news I go to Roll Call, Reuters, Associated Press, BBC, The Hill.
For right-leaning news I go to Washington Examiner, National Review, New York Post, Washington Fres Beacon.
And a bunch of podcasts from Wall Street Journal, American Enterprise Institute, and more.
The Russian I know are opposed to the war, support Ukraine, and hate Putin.
Most Russians in the US don't like Putin, so...
I have no idea.
