Hey green energy people. What do you think of fossil fuels being needed to manufacture and charge your electric vehicles not to mention slave labor?

Not sure I fit in to the green energy club but the point for me is that in driving around in an electric car (assuming you can afford one), especially in tight, urban UK cities, you are relocating the pollution away from the populous to where the electricity is produced. That seems like a good thing to me. And the noise reduction should be good too.

The dirty way that many areas currently produce electricity will improve in time, I'd assume. Whether we like it or not it seems. As the politicians seem he'll bent on making us pay for it.

Electricity is the same so I don’t know why you say that fossil fuels are needed to manufacture and charge an electric car. Nor is slave labor necessary, or peculiar to the manufacturing of electric cars. Fossil fuel extraction and consumption has had and continues to have severe negative consequences for people all over the world.

I expect that battery technology will continue to improve. We’ve about reached the limit of efficiency for the gasoline-powered automobile.

Slave labor isn’t necessary but it is a fact in China to produce your batteries. Fossil fuels are used to produce electricity idiot. Coal fuels power plants. Ever heard of 5hem?

Of course fossil fuels are still used to produce electricity, but wind and solar are catching up. Here in Seattle it's all hydroelectricity. There's no reason solar power couldn't be used in the manufacture of an electric car.

Don't forget the amount of waste that will be produced from all of that "green" energy and the fact that electric cars are very experimental right now so we can expect a ton of problems with them aside from their insane price
