What's the appeal of communism or rather why does communism appeal to some people?

Communism as a creed basically stipulates that you value cooperation, partnership, pooling of resources for the common good. It values ensuring that no-one starves, no-one is homeless, no-one has no clothes to wear, no-one is reduced to begging on the streets, selling sex to feed oneself etc etc.

It is rather traditionally 'feminine' in outlook, whereas capitalism is more 'masculine', more individualistic. Capitalism extols the very small number of people who become very rich. It has disinterest in the large majority who contribute but don't negotiate for themselves such large rewards.

Both ends of the spectrum are pretty unrealistic for the vast majority of people. Most sane people value the entrepreneurial start-up culture but think that huge monopolies shouldn't be driven by the profit motive, because they then just fleece the majority for the benefit of lazy rentiers. Most don't believe in private ownership of essentials like utilities, energy, because you get the possibility for what the psychopaths are now imposing on the world - energy scarcity and mafia extortion of a kind worse than what Hitler tried to do.

Mixed economies is where the majority sit. Small is beautiful is where most are comfortable.

Because they're envious losers who don't understand how anything works; but want to cut to the front of the success line. They see a few dicks who cut to the front without going full communist, and decide that means everyone cuts to the front. But that if they do it under the communist banner, that somehow makes it okay when they do it.

They also tend to be horrifically creatively sterile. So they become parasites that leech onto literally everything, stealing and / or destroying it. Wherever they detect a resistance, they have to degrade, debase, libel, destroy, and replace the culture of that resistance.

It's also telling how they adopt the worst evils of every place they conquer, but have an "it's okay when we do it" mindset!

Imperial England: "Let's create an Ireland... without any Irish in it! Let's destroy their potato crops, for starters, while we rape the women in Scotland in order to create a Scotland devoid of Scots!"

Woke Ireland and Scotland: "Let's create an Ireland... without any Irish in it! And a Scotland with no real Scots left in it! And if anyone objects, we'll call them a racist, and treat them like a terrorist!"

Do you remember the credit crisis of 2008? The "occupy wallstreet", the people watching a 3rd maybe even half thier retirement evaporate over a few months, the wallstreet bailouts? Not having that, that's the appeal of Communism.

I'm as Capitalistic as they come. I believe in laissez-faire and the free market. But Capitalism is NOT perfect.

We here in the United States have a pretty high standard of living enjoyed mainly because of Capitalism. I was talking to an Egyptian student a few months back. And he was a Communist (something I wasn't used to meeting so we had a good conversation) and he was trying to sell me on the benefits of Communism. He said the reason Communism has not thrived is because it has not been allowed to take over the world. To which I told him I think Communism is I great idea in THEORY. But man is far too greedy and exploitative for it to ever work. And ultimately it's doomed to failure because there's no incentive to excel. So society stagnates. And we don't reach our full potential under Communism.

It appeals to children. Greed, sloth, jealousy, stupidity, no understanding of consequences, no regard for people's rights. Funnily enough, some of the problems are relatively well aligned with the issues of Pleasure Island from Pinocchio. Reel them in with promises of a utopian world in which you don't have to do anything yet you are granted everything. But, reality sets in and before you can say 'workers rights' you're thrown into a cell, forced to work and slave away till the day the Party™ decides your life is no longer of substantial benefit for the rest of society.

And yet some still say they support the idea: According to a 2011 Rasmussen poll, 11% of Americans think that communism would better serve this country's needs than our current system.”  This article is nearly 10 years old. I’m sure that percentage is much higher among idiotic Lefties. Especially BLM and Antifa.
