I think there should be a public registry of people who own more than 2 functioning firearms (maybe a different number). That said, it would need some serious consideration for what info is made public for the safety of gun owners.

I think it's well worth knowing in advance if you're moving in next to someone with enough firearms and ammo to arm a militia. Y'know, property values and such.
