Their high speed rail and infrastructure has many problems in many country and USA does not have high speed rail. Maybe you said that they dont need it but Boeing company has many problems too and they subsidize them is that the same cause that they accuse China? then they did it silent and use that power to control free market? so now the only way is that blacken China?

As even the Japanese know the key to trains being a better option than cars and airplanes is population density.

The other issue is forcing people to pay for a train regardless of whether or not they use it or it is even feasible for them to use it in proportion to its cost is unfair.

In this way a passenger train in particularly is most unambiguously a wealth transfer to the most decently populated regions of any country. For they can ONLY serve those regions and specifically the people who live within reasonable reach of them.

A road by contrast is cheaper to build and is as much used by trade as it is as it people. Therefore it is far less clear cut who benefits from said road.

There is of course a case against federal subsidizes of airports who like trains are more limited to serving the people who can reach them, however unlike trains are faster and more flexible in what & where they carry.

All of which makes airplanes far better suited to transporting people for which Time and flexibility is one of the most important factors.

The upper limit of this is when population density becomes soo high as to overload the use of local air space under local rules. This is not the case anywhere in the USA yet.
