Yes, but rainbow hues, not an approximation of "skin" tones
Skin tones, yes I can see that , but there is to much rainbow stuff going on as it is….
I don't care if my band aid is neon green as long as it does its job
I guess I don't see why not. Kids can get themed band aids when they get shots.
Obviously it's not a high priority for the manufacturers.
I think the premise that the color of band aids being what it is because of racial motivation is incorrect in the first place.
I think they shud bann aids to those who ask for colors
My name is no, my sign is no, my number is no, you need to let it go, you need to let it go
There’s no point it’s only to heal a cut lmao
All Band-Aids are racists and should never be used again.
Well they do based on purpose. Blue usually are metallic as to be nullified by food service machines.
I don't care what color band aids are and I have no respect for someone who thinks it is discriminatory.
@Guffrus My bro I have been talking about a host of Black issues on this website, but let me tell you this ain't one of them.
Shit like this makes people not take our causes seriously. Not only do these colored bandaids already exist and you can actually buy them online, if I'm bleeding I can care less which color bandaid stops the bleeding.
Let it rest. Focus your energy on something else.
@Datboi65 Having different skin tone band aids seems like a continuation of the orignal problem to me rather than a solution for it.
Just because you have personally decided that you dont care about it doesn't mean anything.
What matters is objective reality, that is, what is what remains real outside of our minds regardless of what we think or feel about things.
Skin tone bandages are a problem, that is objectively a fact.
The solution, in my mind is to stop fucking making any of them, because I very much doubt that anyone gives a single fucking shit about having a band aid that matches their skin colour, but having band aids which claim to match skin colour but then dont match, that then becomes a problem.
It is law that food work places have only blue coloured plasters, so why not simply make this the default colour?
isn't that what makes sense?
@Guffrus No sir, because once again like I said these are first world problems. I care more about police brutality and the lack of education and infrastructure that Black folks have to deal with, not band aids. That's a waste of our time, and you are invalidating our struggle by focusing more than you should on flippin' band aids!
Let it rest sir.
@Datboi65 Thank you sir. I agree with you 100%. Thin skinned, victim minded people like ms. gooferus here fuck up the world for the rest of us. There are more important issues to be concerned with.
@Datboi65 Frankly I think you are both just have an extremely limited capacity.
Also you just made a critical error; quote: you are invalidating our struggle.
Perhaps I have misunderstood something but I take this to mean that you are black and mistakenly under the impression that you own the topic of racism because of the colour of your skin.
Im sorry but that makes you a racist and part of the problem, not the solution.
Furthermore, you live in Italy, which means you are in the EUI, which means that there are a shit ton of laws all designed to make sure everyone is equal and these things are in a constant state of evolution to improve them where they are failing, you dont have a fucking struggle beyond band aids.
@Guffrus So I tried being respectful, but now you're just pissing me off.
Your efforts to "fight racism" are creating even more racism because your silly ass cannot see it. Then you try to deflect by saying that Black people cannot guide folks when it comes to the topic of racism, or that makes them racist. What have you been smoking sir? The white savior complex is indeed one of the many forms of racism, and you are showing that.
Then you say that I live in Italy. Another fatal mistake. I don't live in Italy. Just because I have that in my bio, doesn't mean that I'm a resident of that country. I change ot from time to time for anonymity sake, and so idiots can make assumptions about where I live so they can look even more silly.
You keyboard warriors are hilarious, complaining about fucking band aids. You don't know me son, or my family. That "your don't have a fucking struggle beyond band aids" crap is more resembling of you life complaining about their color. What's next? Wedding dresses are racist and should be a different color?
Un-fucking-believable.
@Datboi65 Clearly thinking isn't a strong area for you.
If you are not from Italy, fine we will disregard that line but any error about that has been entirely caused by you, you lied on your profile. Now you have your reasons for doing so, fine but the responsibility for the error remains your, its nothing to do with me.
Quote Then you try to deflect by saying that Black people cannot guide folks when it comes to the topic of racism, or that makes them racist.
That is not what I said at all, you are either incapable of understanding what is being said to you or much more likely you are deliberately and dishonestly misrepresenting what i have said because you can't make an honest argument.
You seem to be under the impression that being aware of the history of band aid marketing some how creates more racism, the mechanism for that is unclear so perhaps you could elaborate on this point, assuming you even have one.
Regarding wedding dresses, the white colour of a wedding dress symbolises purity, or more accurately, virginity, this point has in fact been raised as it is a valid argument. However, as religion is very much in decline and many of the people who marry aren't religious at all, this is now viewed more as a tradition rather than symbolism.
The same could potentially become true of band aids however that is not what is happening, what is happening instead is that people are making ranges of different flesh coloured band aids, which as i have stated is not a progression or solution it is a perpertuation of the original problem.
@Guffrus The point in all of this is that society makes race a big deal when it's not, and Datboi65 is correct when he says that only makes racism worse, which is what you are doing here. Racism will never go away as long as morons like you continue to fan the flames and give it a reason to exist.
Get over it and let it go. Let racism die. Stop enabling the victim mindset that perpetuates it. We are talking about the colour of band aids here for fuck sake.
Do all of us a favor and listen to this podcast:
www.samharris.org/.../217-new-religion-anti-racism
Quote me where I am 'fanning the flames'
I think they should just make green band aids and done deal.
Those companies are free to make whatever colour they want.
I really dont care about the color of my band aids as long as its not pink.
How easy does someone's life have to be for this to be an issue?
u dont get it man. that's ok though
I personally don't give a damn. If they want to, cool. If not, so what?
Just a stupid as the gender neutral potato head
Yes absolutely.. it would be nice to have them " blend " in
Technically, only one company makes BandAids but there are a variety of tones on the market
Who's that? 3M?
@red324 Johnson & Johnson
I wonder why the monopoly.
@red324 not a monopoly, it's a brand name
Oh I see what you're saying. That's beside the point. She's just using band-aide as a generic term for bandage. 3M makes bandages too.
What’s the purpose? Sounds like some liberal BS
lets not bring race into bandaids...
They already do and have for awhile.
They can choose to but not be compelled.
I really don't mind colors of a bandaid
I see most men answer either "NO" or say it doesn't matter I believe you would consider that racist and/or misogynistic.
But I see most women voted "Yes" to which I say they are more concerned about counsel or want it to blend in rather than inclusivity.
Anyways no bandaid will blend in with your skin even the transparent ones.
Most normal people don't care about the color of the bandaid as long as it works.
They already exist, and I think it’s a great idea.
i like them in transparent or neon colored
I could care less what color they made them
Who cares. If that is an issue for you yikes.
😆😆
If they can sell them I don;t see why not.
Lol I want brown condoms
that would be a good
It’s just a bandaid?
Yeah I think they should
Sure. It might even increase their sales
Yeah they’re cool
They have. And they don't sell.
It's just to make them less obvious
What is the embarrassment of wearing a bandaid? Its not like oozing pimple or visible sore than someone has been picking at. I must have missed when wearing a bandaid was embarrassing. People worried about someone seeing a bandaid but will go out wearing bright mismatched clothes that clashes with social norms, but worried about people seeing a bandaid on them? I thought then whole idea was to stand out and not blend in?
@kmg9150 it's not an embarrassment thing, it's a distraction thing. Consider if you've got an important deal you're trying to make, a fair deal, do you want your client spending 5% of their brain power/ memory on a bandaid? Or if you're a woman and you're at a party and you've got an expensive dress and matching heels, do you want people paying attention to the bandaid on your arm from where you got a jab? Easily the answer to both is no.
They do.
Also, no one gives a shit.
Red, Green Blue, Purple, why not!!
We already do
Clear should do it
Genius!
Thanks for like!
Sure why not
make them all white
