Both govs are pretty heavy handed. Russia has created a reason to go to war against Ukraine, throwing it's own economy in turmoil. China has also oppressed it's people in their failure to handle Covid and even creating panic and upset with their recent bank situation, where people couldn't even take money out of their accounts.
Hard to say who is worse.
