What is the difference between Black and African?

If you're Black you stereotypical have mid to dark brown complexion, nappy hair, brown eyes, wide nose, sometimes large lips, etc. Typically Blacks are geographically connected to Sub-Saharan Africa, but the have migrated to many corners of the globe at this point. To be African is to be born on the continent of Africa. In the north of the continent above the Sahara desert you have a lot of Arabs and other Muslim groups. You also have mixed people that have European blood due to former White nations on the Mediterranean sea that have faded into history, trade posts, and colonies. In the the south and along the coast lines you have Whites from Portugal, Spain, France, England, Germany, Belgium, Italy, etc. that set up trade posts, shipping routes, and colonies. Over the years many different people have migrated to Africa for one reason or another. For example you have Chinese working in Africa today. If they have kids that are born there and grow up there, they are African even though they are of Chinese heritage...

Blacks are mainly non native Africans.

Sort of like some White Americans are non native Europeans.

The issues arise around families.

Black slaves were taken out of Africa, and many were forced to breed with their own parents and siblings to increase the numbers of slaves for their White masters to sell on. In Africa itself this was not permissible.

Hence why some Blacks today in places like America tend to have genetic problems which are the result of such practices. It's one reason why some are behind their African counterparts.

But such genetic problems are also common among many White Americans. Mainly as early colony settlers did have forced breeding practices to protect "the blood" being "mixed" with Native Americans, slaves or Jews.

Egyptians are Africans but they're not black, you can't be black but not African but you can be African and not black, I'm not sure if black people were natives in Jamaica though but same logic bruv

Black is a colour that happens when all light gets absorbed by the surface and none is reflected to your eye. African refers to a person who was born in the Africa.

one is related to where they are from and the other their skin color. you can be in say angola which makes you an African and still be white
