For 10 K, a pre-fabricated home for a family of four can be purchased and shipped anywhere on the planet. This could be the answer, but the hyper polarization of today’s world will probably get it the idea buried because it was created by a conservative. Against my better judgment, I’m going to let the cowardly anonymous trolls have their fun.

It already has here, which leads me to believe it will in the real world too.

As real estate goes, the ability to hold a family of four for 10 K US might as well be free. You can’t even live that van life for 10 K.

It’s a relatively new phenomenon, they’ve been prototyping it for years but musk just moved into one of these. If you had to hazard a guess, would you say real estate around you goes more for over or under 100K? Ours was significantly under, but we also hear gunshots a few times a week and find needles on the sidewalk and have to deal with loud 20+ vehicle parties a few times a month.

A house for a family of four around here typically goes for 180-220 in the suburbs. Imagine if you could pay 1/20 of what a house costs and get a 1/4 acre to put it on for about 3-4K? A lot of good for a lot of people who never thought achieving the American dream of home ownership and stability could be accomplished.
- +1 y
Well based off what you say.
I think the biggest pushback won't be musks political view. But the greed of having actual affordable housing.
The amount of money the greedy will lose be the the reason for them to stop it.
Do i think they will mask it with some political lies absolutely.
Liberals will lie to their voters about how it's Republicans fault, and Republicans will lie to their voters how democrats failed.

If the liberals actually cared about the little guy who can’t afford to live, wouldn’t this be a godsend? If the Republicans want overnight neighborhoods that they can tax to pop up wouldn’t this also be a godsend? If conservatives want the American dream of home ownership and stability to come to fruition wouldn’t this also be a godsend?

You make an excellent point about the greedy losing a lot of money though: well in contract security I had a few contracts for high-rise housing, and the sheer volume of cash that various levels of government are pumping into those boxes for undesired persons to be contained away from the rest of society is mind-boggling.

The governments in New York are more overage about wanting to keep the people they don’t like contain apart from the rest society then they are other places. For example, the school districts are organized by town instead of by county, in order to segregate the quality of a child’s education by their parents income.

Overt*.
You make an excellent point about distraction. We’ve seen in the last three years that weapons of mass distraction are far more dangerous than weapons of mass destruction. - +1 y
Didn't know that bout new york.
But yeah at this point everyone is so angry with eachother that these politicians are acting a fool, and there party continues to defend them and vote them in because they don't wanna look like a traitor, and only care about making the other party mad. - +1 y
Tribalism always benefits the chiefs more than anyone else.

That is why I opt out of the false left right dichotomy and focus more on the up-and-down disparity. Most people aren’t ready for that though, so I have to debate in ways that are applicable.

The real enemy is the permanent political class which benefits and profit$ from us little people infighting. When I did a paper in undergrad on Frederick Douglass’ memoir, I read a passage where he talked about slaves actually getting into fist fights over whose master is better. How is that any different than the right vs left bs we are doing in 2022?

For independence. We fought a war for abolition. And right now the descendants of people who decided their existence was less important than their ideals are spitting on their graves.

OK, I get it, I’ll even acknowledge that a surface reading would allow your point to have some merit. I don’t know enough about the phenomena so I’m not really qualified at this point to comment on it.

I don't care enough about these sodomites to research every detail... but I saw that musk's alleged daughter is an admitted tranny. And willy was trolled mercilessly for ogling Arian grande.
But after seeing these posts, everything is self explanatory.

+1 yI'm not familiar with the product. How will it hold up in all the various climates around the world? Obviously, you need a place to put it, so unless the land is being donated, there's still a sizeable investment than needs to be made.
As for who or what viewpoint the creator of an idea holds, it will get buried if powerful corporate interests don't want it to come to market, no matter who creates it. Let's say I created an engine that could extract energy from desert sand and run a vehicle up to 80 mph and get 500 miles on a single cup of sand. How long do you think I'd live once the oil industry found out?
01 Reply- +1 y
About as long as the guy who invented ta more efficient carburetor or the retired police officer who was shot while working security at the Buffalo NY Tops grocery store shooting who invented an SUV that ran on water and was interviewed on the local news about it weeks before he was murdered.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yThe housing market much like the health care industry and the defense industry is a racket. They don't want affordable housing for people.

All true, but that’s why capitalism is such a beautiful thing, because people who want a product will buy the product so long as it’s of good quality and accomplishes their objectives. I don’t know about you, but when I was just separated from the military and didn’t have a pot to piss in our window to throw it out you bet your backside I would’ve been all over a $10,000 house that could hold a family of four with a second story and I could put it wherever I want on planet earth.
Opinion Owner+1 yEspecially since I've heard those bookable home have pretty much a 40 yr. Lifespan.

So $20,000 will buy two separate houses and the problem with $20,000 being your entire real estate bill for a lifetime is what again?
- +1 y
There are some companies in larger cities paying that to rent their building in a month.
Opinion Owner+1 yDude I'm agreeing with you. What I'm saying is the United States thinks in very short terms. Election cycles of of every 4 years. They don't give a damn about a 100, 50, or even 10 years. Down the road. And they certainly don't give a damn about freeing the American people up economically by supporting affordable housing through boxabl. Because how does that benefit them. They'd rather see the avg. American slaves to debt. Because slaves are either to control. Anything left they'll skim of the top through taxes to keep the whole system in motion. As I said the Healthcare and military as well as the housing system is a racket. The Uinte States has become the new Rome. The American people still have the can do spirit. But we don't produce much anymore. That's why I say Healthcare, housing, and military. Because that is the backbone of employment in this country anymore. It sustains itself but can't improve upon itself. All great empires essentially become banking systems in thier final days. As I say thier is simply no incentive for the powers that be to allow Americans affordable housing. If anything it just hurts the powers that be.

00 Reply 1.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Don’t they need to own the land too !
02 Reply- +1 y
They have to own the land that the structure improved upon, but at least in the US, the land itself is, for the moment, typically cheaper than the structure that’s on it. I was only talking about the structure itself, not what it would be built upon. Land prices are another several hour rant I could go on.

Can someone explain how Musk shutting down a $1B dollar affordable housing program will actually help Americans... what the impact will be?
