The ice used to extend as far as south Texas. It retreated and left a shallow inland sea that eventually dried up and is today the Great Plains. Proof is in fossilized evidence of marine life in the Great Plains. The ice retreated further and carved the finger lakes and Great Lakes. The ice is still retreating and will not stop no matter how bad they want to destroy the economy and peoples lives. There will be species extinctions just like in the past but there will also be new evolutionary changes in species just like in the past. You should have learned in school everything changes including the earth. How do you explain global warming and the ice retreating before we were ever here? Didn’t you learn if you want to know the future to look at the past?

And to claim that green technology ruins the economy shows your complete ignorance of not only science but economics. Every data center I have built is “green”. Not because some liberal concern about climate change. But because green data centers are cheaper. Believe it or not the economy is better off when we use less power. The upfront cost is always greater. But we show savings over time. And the folks who did it cheaper have a big pain in their ass now that energy prices are higher.

Just ask Microsoft. They are refusing to build data centers in Ireland.

Because Putin is putting the squeeze on Europe. Energy costs make these projects too expensive.

That is recession causing shit right there. So read a book on economics and educate yourself.

Yes the planet freezes and heats over time as amounts of gas are released and then recaptured by the earths crusts. Global warming isn’t a man made phenomenon but it was never supposed to happen this fast. We sped up the process by releasing our own carbon🙄

And that was lucky, because if the glaciers had grown further the ice would have reflected too much sunlight and the planet would have stayed frozen.

And it took over 100.000 years, which is still super fast. The global warming we are experiencing now took no more than 100 years. And can be directly linked to burning fossil fuels. As the burning of fossil fuels creates CO2 with different carbon isotopes to the "natural" CO2 which all lifeforms "breath out".

You are right, the climate of earth changed many times before, and there were mass extinction events before, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't do everything we can to reverse the damage we already done and prevent a manmade desaster.
