I’m not too sure.

For some of them transitioning works out great, they live happily. Good for them.

For others it destroys their lives. There are quite a few who have spoken about how they deeply regret transitioning, many of them become suicidal.

Something like 40% of transgender people commit suicide post-op. Some say that it’s because of the way they’re treated and discriminated against, but from listening to many of those who want to destransition or who regret it, they had other mental issues which they thought would be solved by transitioning, but weren’t.

There are obviously people who want to support transgender people by normalising transitioning, but I think it’s kinda fucked up the way they try to silence and shut down detransitioners. Groups, videos and articles by detransitioners get taken down a lot by those people.
