Is Edward Snowden a patriot?

I am asking the question because there is a substantial amount of controversy about the political and national implications of his activities. Your answers are appreciated!

No he's not. He was caught "RED-handed"

He grew up under the lineage of USA loyalties/ patriotism of his family, and used that for a good position in our government to have some effect with global affairs.

Easier to do 'cyber,' and cover your "footsteps," than to be a *public oral lawyer/politician, with multiple people being in council with you.

He had a minor curiosity for china, and some thought of fondness for Russia, being part Russian, this was a subconscious "acknowledgment," while his direct actions and logic were "for America;" he innocently took up a language (curiosity), and married his wife in Russia (sentimentality).

What was bad is that curiosity and fondness grew and would draw more of his affections. His first assignment with dell was to give surveillance to CHINA? lol

Bad move, but maybe wise for the government to see how he would respond. I mean they caught him eventually, and that could have been planned. All I do know for sure is Edward Snowden is NO patriot.

By the way, I'm part Russian, but I would never adopt a fondness that grows politically. Just one for my immigrant ancestors who wanted to 'work hard to play hard.' Love for the language and people- food and culture- not the history or the political beliefs/treatment.

Treason to the US establishment is loyalty to humanity. It doesn't matter if Snowden is a patriot or not, he surely tried to uncover a scheme that has effects on the entire world. The NSA surveillance obviously is targeting people who are pro-peace, anti-US hegemonism, critical of capitalism, critical of Zionist apartheid, etc.

He just got Russian citizenship, but I won't hold that against him. He brought to light what was happening with regards to surveillance of US citizens. That was important information. Over all, I'd say yes, he's a patriot.

There is a lot of controversy about this. I do not think he is a patriot but he is not a traitor either. It is hard to determine his motivation.

Irrelevant now. He went to Russia and stayed there because the US government would have killed him if he had stayed here.
