Do you think the guys on this site who complain about women wearing revealing clothes would be right at home working for Iran's "morality police"?

There’s a difference between physically abusing people and questioning their fashion sense. I have nieces I absolutely adore. I think their clothes look like underwear. I’ll buy them dresses if they’ll wear them. I still love them even if I don’t care for their taste in clothing, or we have differing views on what is dressed and what is practically naked.

I don't care if they are wearing revealing clothes or no clothes at all. What annoys me is when they do that and then make believe they are indignant when they get sexual comments which is exactly the comments they were hoping for.

Why say anything at all? Can’t you just admire an attractive women walking past you like you would watch a nice car driving down the street? I can honestly say that I have never seen a man hooting and hollering at a car going down the street. I have a woman.

Why do you assume it is me making the comments? I don't. I am talking about other people making comments and then women who react like they don't know why they are making them.

It's not that the women are dumb. It's a psychological game they play to get attention. They are saying "Look at me, I'm so hot that men can't resist noticing me." Ya think maybe it's because you are half naked?

I couldn't care less how a woman dresses. But I hate this self deceiving game. It's a complete turn off.

Men are going to look at women. They even look at women they don’t find particularly attractive. At least, that’s what I witnessed. There is nothing wrong with it as long as they don’t ogle. It’s creepy. You (not you specifically, I never meant that,) want to look a little longer, get mirrored glasses.
It’s not a matter of not knowing why men make comments. It’s a matter of why can’t they just shut up? Why does a women have to even hear his opinion on her at all? Instead of men just controlling their brain to mouth functions, it’s women who have to change their behaviour? Because you claim it’s natural for men to yell obscenities at women they find attractive?
All while dismissing a woman’s natural instinct to make herself more attractive so she can snag herself one of the better males? Why is her natural instinct expected to be curbed because you (again, not you) can’t control yours?

So you are saying that women are slaves to men? Who says they have to curb their natural instincts. They can't control other peoples' behavior but they can ignore it. People have a right to have any view or make any comment they want and you have a right to ignore it.

I didn't say that what you are complaining about shouldn't annoy you. I said that your remedy is to ignore it.

What is unacceptable is the attitude that "I find it offensive so you shouldn't be allowed to say it" that is so prevalent these days. You have a right to ignore anything you find offensive. But you don't have a right to prevent people from saying things even if you find them offensive. And if you did have that right, no one would ever be allowed to say anything at all because for everything people say someone is offended.

I believe the direct quote is “What annoys me is…” So you already admitted that it does annoy you.
The remedy is to ignore it. Which is great advice as a one off. Some women have to deal with it everyday. And some men get really, really offended that women don’t appreciate the ever so thoughtful comment of “nice tits.” It’s like they want a thank you or something. I will thank you for the “ignore it” advice , but it’s not always as easy as that. Not that you would understand, lacking tits and all.
What appears to be very prevalent today is this idea that everybody is entitled to “my” opinion. Not every thought that enters the brain needs to tumble out the mouth, or be spewed onto the internet for that matter.
I’m not supporting banned speech or anything. I would never be okay with a law that criminalizes it. I agree, you don’t have a right to not be offended.
So why does that mean that people have to be offensive?

People don't *have to be* offensive. But they have a right to be. The problem is that what is offensive to one person is not offensive to another person. If we start prohibiting everything that is offensive, we wouldn't be allowed to say or do anything because there will always be someone who is offended no matter what is said or done.

So until we can find the angels from up above who have the last say in what is offensive and what is not offensive, then the only way to have freedom is to allow all speech whether offensive to someone or not.

I try not to judge women's clothing anymore, when I was younger I ranted about the way women dressed out of a desire for revenge against all the popular boys and their popular girlfriends who bullied me when I was young (I know I sound like an incel, but I never said any women "owe" me sex). I can't speak to the psychological reasons behind why anyone else either here or in Iran wants to police women's clothing. Except that there is of course a sense of honor to it. If the women who you identify with are visible to the objectifier's eye (women of your family, religion, ethnic group etc.) then it makes men feel objectified themselves in a way.

No, the Morality Police in Iran is killing women for having a Small % of their hair hanging out of the veil. The saddest part of it all was the women who caused the protests to start weren't even trying to be rebellious. She was just trying to go about her life while keeping her down. If I recall correctly she accidentally had a small portion of her hair uncovered and these Islamic Hardliners known as the Morality Police killed her for it. It's no wonder they're rioting in that country. If I'm wrong about any of what I just typed then I would appreciate it if someone told me.

I haven't really seen that much on this site but I don't open everything only topics that interest me so I might have missed it, but, I will say that my brother (2 years younger than me) was super judgy and kind of mean about how I dressed as a teen and I think it just made him feel superior, I don't think he wanted to kill me or anything just annoy me.

No, I don't think so. Most guys have no problem with the way most Western women dress, bare arms, bare legs, and a little bare chest. It's a completely different thing to arrest a woman for showing a lock of hair, as they do in Iran.
