Trending & News Ever wish you were able to choose where your tax dollars were spent? Where would you want your money to go to?

Out of all of these, my highest priority would be defense and law & order, I dont think the government should be expanded over any other domestic issue. Since it's currently the most powerful country on earth, I wouldn't care if it got involved in foreign affairs but since the government hasn't done anything but make mistakes with it's foreign policies since the 1970s, I'd prefer it didn't get involved with the Russian Ukrainian war more than it has to. Especially under the Biden administration.
It would go to People who don’t have a lot a lot of money. Whether that’s homeless or People who Can’t Buy something they want or need.
Each homeless person and person who Can’t afford to get what they need or want would be designated a Card that is connected to there bank account that when scanned shows the amount of money in account and a Extra card would be designated that Shows what is wanted or needed and why and what it would Improve in there lives and both cards would be Electronic that get Hooked up And scanned to a Stores Computer and scanner and a Percentage of Money would always be on the Third Card that would cover the expenses and since it’s now a choice where it goes Millions of people would have the option to Give a percentage and Because it’s a percentage everyone would be able to afford the things they want and or Need.
Interesting question. Welp for now it wouldn't go nowhere. I would refuse to give any unless if we actually declare war on Russia and just call Putin's bluff. And if nukes do happen? I can live with that.
If the choice is die by nuke or let a dictator take a country I choose death. Same way I would if Hitler was still around today trying to take France and the world. If he threatened nukes because he had that tech. I wouldn't care, I would still go after his arse.
Anyway in a normal situation though mine would go to healthcare.
None of the above. The problem isn't WHERE it goes, but HOW it's spent. For example, US schools get PLENTY of funding every single year. But the majority of all of that goes right into superintendent's pockets and almost NONE of it into the classrooms. The system is SO f*cking corrupt, at every level.
The superintendent is not the one who manages the money part. That is the School Board. The Superintendent handles the Administrative part.
I agree. The arrogance in these bureaucrats to promote their agenda, smear historical figures (Columbus, Washington, Jefferson, etc), tell white kids to feel bad for the inequities of their fellow minority students, and on and on. How about just teach some facts and leave the emotions outside the classrooms.

None of those options. It would go to UK's National Health Service, as thanks for being to vigilant in diagnosing and treating my mother who has breast cancer. It was found by chance because of the vigilance of a radiographer during a routine Xray.
Like all taxing it's not all or nothing, of these things school is most important followed by police and social safety networks. Helping Ukraine is a luxery and should be done with money you can spare, for future payback, when they are on their feet again.
I chose disabled veterans which encompasses the homeless population. After serving our country, no veteran, disabled or not, should be sleeping in streets and not having food and drink.
The Veterans administration can help them for a while, then it ends and out to the streets they go. With no family to help them, that's where they wind up. This should not happen!☮️
B and D. Other Ines is something the government need to be aiding in, especially if your a veteran.
I would provide employment support to homeless people such as giving them a place to bathe and wash so employers will hire them and giving them free taxi rides to work.
I'm beginning to wonder if homeless even want a job, or are capable of even holding one after seeing their behavior in the news. It would be interesting to see if your suggestion would work, but I guess everything is worth a try.
Out the choices, police. Really I believe that taxes and tolls hurt the economy and over fund "elected" officials that usually take a nice slice. Might as well play the lottery. At least there's a choice and chance of getting something :)
save stray cats and dogs from the streets...
That could be done if people would just neuter their pets.
I've worked with vet/rescue clinics... neutered pets are abandoned as well
neutering can help with feral populations
but strays are abandoned pets who once had a home
I would get my federal taxes back and spend them on my locality, which is poor especially compared with where the elites live.
i'd invest everything in my countries education and young families. cause we need that more than ever in the west.
Emergency responders.
You have people asking you if you want fries with that making more than many paramedics do.
It's pretty sad.
Yeah, why go to college anymore when you can make McDonalds your career.
@Fireguy17 What state is this in? How long have you been out of trucking?
Can a beginner truck driver make that much? It used to be you used to have experience to get good local jobs so you had to go long haul.
Yeppers.
You need your CDL, a clean driving record, drug free and a pulse and you can walk into any major company and they will teach you the rest.
When I started they wanted you to be 25 with 10 years experience.
So I was 19 and worked for a crappy company with not the world's best equipment.
I went out of state, you had to be 21.
Every company pays different, get your haz mat and you can haul fuel.
But you can make a decent living.
Thanks for the information.
@Fireguy17 How come I followed you but cannot message you? It says you only accept messages from followers, and I am following you.
It does I think.
Infrastructure- good GRIEF, infrastructure. That's what we need most right now.
Why? It will be wasted money when the big earthquake hits. You saw what happened to Florida. They have had many hurricanes and were still caught with their pants down.
Um, what do you think it's FOR? The Hoover dam's already decades past its life expectancy; if THAT goes, what do you think's going to happen to all the towns nearby?
It won't go. It's too big and wedged in to go. Especially with the low water level.
It still obeys the laws of physics; it doesn't need to completely explode to cause a catastrophe. Even a tiny fracture will very quickly become an enormous one. Ever hear of the Grand Canyon? That's water damage.
Education, healthcare, environmental protection, scientific research, welfare, infrastructure.
None of the above.
I'd want my taxes used on infrastructure.
I forgot that one which is indeed important. But I figure when the Big One hits it will all be down anyway.
industry, especially oil and gas exploration so the gas prices can come down and this would reduce the inflation of everything.
Illegal immigration to help the members who have demonstrated they are productive members of society.
From what I see they are filling in the voids of the workforce shortage and paying taxes.
Healthcare or Ukraine. I'm good with anyone fighting tyranny
I would want it to go to making the United States a sovereign power once again, and not a vapid, horrendously wasteful political puppet.
A technology development center, open for all inventors, paid by the government. Succesful inventions are paid to the government.
Ummmm, no.
I'm not willing to pay for some putterer to invent a new toothbrush. Will you?
If you were a doctor, without any fundings to test your theory of the cure for cancer but other doctors had millions of dollars, that tech center would even tje odds.
Like I said, instead of giving one tje fundings for their own lab and leaving others in the cold, having one big place for all to share drops research and development costs and goves better results unlike nowadays where 90% of respurces go to chasing fundings.
I'm not going to pay someone to get rich on my dime. Would you?
The difference between private R&D centers and the one that doesn't exist for the pre-seed and start up innovators is a fair chance development center. Difference is giving you the fair chance to access that technology thats nevessary to develope the technology you desire.
Governments fund theme parks to make rides affordable for all families. Why should acess to planes, cruise ships, movie theaters, and elswhere be made affordable for all?
Still mending the cat claw marks on my tongue.
Out of this list, I'd opt to help disabled veterans.
Other: Send taxes to Russia to apologize for US Foreign Policy.
Put it towards clean vehicles an clean energy also new bio degradable plastic
But what energy is actually clean? You are just dealing with tradeoffs.
Solar wave energy from ocean wind mills
who was the one girl who wanted to pay her own money to a country halfway across the world to fund war?
Probably trolling.
A better intrastate train system in every state. Get rid of the dependancy on cars.
Food for everyone, education and shelter then proper infrastructure and then nature.
Yes the homeless could be assisted.
back in my bank account
You wish!
Helping homeless people
But, only to those who actually want help.

Forced education programs for the unemployed.
Definitely veterans
Reducing the debt.
With the national debt being like 30 Trillion dollars that is not going to happen unless every person in the US coughs up $100,000.
Returned to me.
The money would go back to me
TRAINS!!

But not just any train. The flying train from Back to The Future III.
Lol.
Who's going to pull a train?
I meant what is going to pull a train?
@DubiousIntentions Biodiesel hopefully, if possible.
I'd like to know what powers Japan's bullet trains that travel at 300 mph? It sure can't be biodiesel.
@DubiousIntentions You tell me.
Anti pollution
none of those
