Why do most traditional American conservatives despite video games and adult videos (p-word) so much and believe they're destructive to society?

Seems like every American traditionalist/conservative I encounter on the internet, they have such a massive hate b0n3r towards video games and adult videos and strongly look down on people who play video games as a hobby and watch adult videos or any adult content even if they're legally purchased adult video and they're watching in private with no children at all.

Note: Can't say the p-word for adult video or else GAG's God-awful broken algorithm forcibly categorizes this question under s3xu@lity.

I consider myself pretty conservative and video games are a part of my life... I've even become a programmer to start developing my own games.

As for cornography, I can see why there's a bit of hate towards it because of how addictive it can be, and---at least in my opinion---how it cheapens and spoils the "special-ness" of sex, reducing it down to a consumer product that you can buy... or watch for free. But I'm not going to demonize people who watch it, since I've done a lot of it myself (and slowly recovering).

I might be incorrect about this, but I think one can be "conservative" and not be a stiff, religious fanatic... and those might be the ones you're running into.
