But in America, no matter how bad your leaders are you worship them like Gods. Yes I know your divided but every Republican worships the ground Trump walks on and every Democrat worships the ground Biden falls on.
Why don't the British worship their leaders like Americans?
First of all, the president isn’t a “leader”. Only morons believe that. Unfortunately morons outnumber the intelligent and educated here, by more than double. As an elected official, the president is a public servant. ALL elected positions are. It’s a job. There are duties associated with the job. If someone doesn’t do their job you fire them and find someone who will do it. In absolutely no conceivable facet of life is the person YOU hire and fire considered YOUR “leader”. Ell oh ell! But let’s talk about the British monarchy. You don’t elect them. Are they no longer considered “rulers”? Are they not worshipped? Cuz it definitely appears like some worship them from here. I’ve never been to the UK, so i’m referencing media representation entirely. Princess Diana’s wedding and funeral were BANANAS! Ain’t no US president had a turnout like that for anything they didn’t command the military to attend. Ha! But maybe i’m misunderstanding something. Ell oh ell!
It's all over. The lettuce is victorious and probably didn't even NEED that refrigeration bonus after all. I'll say the adulation is (and I' not kidding or exaggerating) is truly a cult of personality surrounding Trump. We will see. Hopefully that is a one off, but the problem of the MAGA/white supremacist/radical evangelical voter base remains. Trump refused to denounce the radicals and gave their lunacy oxygen. Now they are an EXTREMELY vocal minority estimated to be something a little over 30% of the population. We'll have to do something about this if we want any sort of stability back. Honestly though, I've been around long enough to remember LBJ in the late sixties, and while Reagan was very popular for a time in the 80's, this Trump phenomenon is like nothing I've witnessed for a politician. I was in England in the months surrounding the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and witnessed NONE of the silliness we've seen here for the crown OR the PM.
“Do something about this?”. What- re-education camps, genocide, or something else? And what about the civil rights violations you’re “doing something” will entail?

I also don't want to live in an authoritarian state which the white supremacists attempted to install on Jan 6 by overthrowing the results of a free and fair election. Republicans are clearly anti democracy at this point and therefor UN American. Listen to the rhetoric of people like Marjorie Taylor Green and Matt Gaetz and on and on and on. @Avicenna Mr Trump was clearly one based on HIS OWN statements and many occurrances including Charlottesville... The paramilitary folks marched with torches while chanting "the Jews will not replace us" 45 refused flatly to denounce this action... fine people. Anyone remaining in office at theis time who continues to support Trump, and is still pushing the "big lie" would have to be a racist. Never fear though, lefties don't do things like violent insurrections. That's the territory of the right wing, as they have already proven LIVE on national TV.

Trump lost by something like 8 million votes, don't care how you slice 'em. I have my issues with Democrats as well. Biden was FAR down my list of preferred candidates. UK has a much longer history than U. S. More experience with leadership so maybe you guys just get more annoyed with your leaders when things don't get down. Trigger-happy after one wrong answer. Or two. Or three...

Well for one thing in my opinion no one deserves to be "worshiped" especially not some sleazy politician who claims to have people's interest in mind which he/she truly doesn't. Most people consume the media and actually take their crap at face value. Politicians, in the US, Europe, the entire western world are but servants to a questionable so-called "elite" with even more questionable goals.
If these servants don't play ball they will be removed one way or another. The vote you are permitted to cast every 4 years or so won't change a thing because you merely get to select the players who are to follow the agenda.

For most of your life, you've only seen lacklustre political leads who have treated the role as a tool to building business relationships and as a stepping stone to making money after they leave office. Ultimately self serving. I expected more from Truss and May but I'm guessing they didn't go to the right schools and don't have the salacious stories to blackmail the boys in to subservience. It feels like these people never really left their school system. Greatly disappointing and I don't expect we'll see any better from Labour when they win in a couple of year's time.
Though it may seem that way, the majority of us don't worship our leaders, but the noisy ones clearly do and just love to broadcast it. Now the MAGA acronym stands for "Making Attorneys Get Attorneys." What a mess.
Im a registered Democrat I have 0 interest in Biden or Kamala. The media and old bitter people hype up politicians. Young American adults dont care all that much about 70 and 80 year olds winning elections
We do not 'worship' Politicians because we know they are in it for what they can get out of it, and that they are just like the rest of us having to sit/squat to take a dump.
We do not see them as any kind of 'celebrity', in fact more that a few got away with 'high crimes and misdemeanour's' while in office.
Trump is an anomaly. Famous for decades in the USA. Right place, right time, cultivated the support of a lot of perturbed people, many of whom voted for Mr. Obama twice but despised Hillary, so he had the luxury of running against the most unlikeable candidate. And still only won because of the USA's state by state electoral system. He then lost to someone who was incoherent most of the time.

It was the most heavily religious Brits who left for America. That’s who they descend from and religiosity is highly heritable. It’s in their blood.
It shows in the way they think, speak and argue about a lot of things - reproductive rights, marriage, sex, the law, and obviously political leaders.
Even those who are atheists are this way, they just replaced their Christian beliefs and belief in God with their political beliefs.

Most democrats don't worship biden. They just voted for him because trump wasn't even an option. Everyone was critical of biden in the first year. But this second year everyone has started to praise him because he's actually getting a lot of shit done.
It's like that show "America's Go Talent." The person on the stage may suck royally, but you know the song won't last forever because we have a Constitution that says if the 2nd Amendment don't get you, then the 22nd will.
Worship our leaders? I honestly can't tell if you're joking or not.
Cause we made a national sport out of criticizing and making fun of our leaders. Doesn't matter if its a mayor, senator, governor, or whatever. None of them are safe.
