What do you think of this whole world being weirder than commonly talked about? Not to sound too out there, I haven't watched any matrix movies, nor did I even actually watch they live, or the Truman show, or any of that. I just heard what they are about but I don't watch movies. So maybe it is time to question a lot of these things? Just thought of this video when you said god would come do shit. Trustworthy? No. The word you are looking for is "credible." And yes, of course, that's what credibility is for. However, right wing misinformation has made something of a mission out of destroying the very concept of credibility (because they know they are sammers and will never have any) with overwhelming volume and numbers. Breitbart, fox News, daily wire.. you never see a pay wall for these sites because they are fully funded by the billionaires that want the tax cuts. They don't lose anything if they lie but gain more funding if they convince people to vote republican or at least not vote Democrat. That doesn't even count all the podcasters, meme makers, and troll farms funded by these people.

They have spent decades attacking simple credibility by condemning credible journalists as intellectual elites or whatever, all while not funding them in the same way so you hit a pay wall any time you might any information that isn't designed from the ground up to help those who fund it get more tax cuts.

But credibility is simple. Signs of overt bias are a pretty much immediate ding. The problem we have today is because right wing media is so vast and far right basically anything that isn't right wing media is going to look biased left. Even something as innocuous as AP, when they don't say that maybe Christian nationalism has some valid points, can cause some to speculate over whether or not they might be communists.

I suppose what right wing media has done is pushed credibility onto the audience. So, if some journalist gets something wrong and the audience doesn't demand a correction, then that journalist is immune to any credibility requirements, and so it is safer to assume they have none. And the fact is right wing media has bottomless loyalty. Left wing media does not. For example, if Maddow spent two years saying the election was stolen when nonpartisan officials unanimously said otherwise, she would lose her entire audience. This hasn't been the case for Carlson.

You lost your credibility when you said the daily wire doesn't even have a pay wall. You have to go to their subscription program to get their best shit but you wouldn't know that because you don't even look at their website or examine the opposition.

Yeah, I had it confused for the blaze. But it is true I look at neither website very often, since they are right wing misinformation. Indeed, I've only ever looked at it when someone relatively new to right wing misinformation asks why I'm convinced it is misinformation. I have then pick any article and I highlight the first example - usually the title but a handful of times I had to go a little deeper. Sadly, people seem more disappointed that it isn't real than happy that it isn't real..

In any case I'm not really arguing. If you have questions I'll answer them but shouting abuse at each other isn't going to change your mind and nor will it alter reality, so my observations wouldn't change either.
