Yes. I always had what I considered to be strong liberal/progressive values, and my 1960s-70s liberal values haven't changed. I believe in social justice, equal opportunity, open mindedness, tolerance, common sense and, above all, liberty and freedom. I distrust authority and am anti-war.
What has changed is what so-called liberalism has become. I don't want anything to do with the word anymore. I have more in common with modern conservatives than modern liberals. I can't even stand to be around modern liberals (loyal Democrats) who think that the Democratic party represents liberalism. They are incapable of critical thought and, instead, allow themselves to be told what to think. Hatred, divisiveness, dishonesty, hypocrisy, judgementalism, censorship, bullying, violence, and jack boot authoritarianism are not what I consider to be liberal.
Years ago, I began to realize that political loyalty is retarded. I'm not influenced by politicians, mainstream media or consensus. And labels like liberal and conservative only create division. They are stereotypes that have nothing to do with an individual's positions on issues.
The brightest and best informed people I know are independent thinkers who scoff at political partisanship and labels.

I am a registered independent but most of my views lean right. That doesn’t mean I’m gung ho about everything republican though.
I’ve never been to a rally, protest, put up political signs, worn clothing/pins with political messaging (maga cap), put up political badges on social media profiles, bumper stickers on my car, etc, ad nauseam.
The only thing I am doing is right now I am writing a satire book on 20th century communist dictators. There is a lot of bullshit that comes from the radical left that gets swept under the rug thanks to our very bias leftist publication education system in the west.
For example did you know that lifelong communist dictator Fidel Castro has an estimated net worth of $900 million when he died in 2016? I wonder how much they teach that in history at public high schools and colleges.
Not ashamed at all, as around here the effects of Washington are as clear as day. Liberals claim they are helping us but all we see is the loss of freedoms and damage they do.
Seeing damage first hand then they tell us, don't believe what you see first hand... this really is for the best... as we are helping you, by making so many people lose their, stop watching fox news, they lie, while I see people first hand lose their jobs and houses.
Then if I manage to convince a liberal that it is a problem, they say well its a Republican run state... yeah that Biden and Democrats handcuffed on day one.
Not really, I like to look into different topics before forming a solid opinion on them. I dont choose opinions by party.
That's how I see people politically, based on their opinions and not the party they voted for, so I'm usually interested in hearing what others think moreso.

I've realized more recently that I'm a progressive that doesn't feel guilty or shame for wanting equality for all and things progressives actually stands for. Not what a corporate controlled right winger news anchor or corporate controlled republican politician says we're all about.
Why should I be ashamed of my political views? by the way, I'm a middle of the road Independent, with some liber views and some conservative views.
I just don't have any political ties or affiliation, nor heavily leaning to either side nor centrism
not ashamed of that either, lolwhat I feel ashamed of is that stupid Fuentes user racist guy.
Absolutely not. I’m more centrist. But some think I’m far right.
Ashamed? No. We all work with what we have.
I;m mostly conservative, although I believe in evolution and climate change (except we should solve this mindfully not like left-wing parties in Germany)
Nah. Ayn Rand might have had a weird name and looked kinda funny, but I don't mind.
Anyone that votes for a democrat after what they done to economy has to be retarded or n idiot. They deserve to lose house, car, job, and starve to death.
Why be ashamed of something you choose to believe in? That makes no sense.
Nope. It’s what I believe and I’m happy to listen to opposing views. Think it’s a-shame some are far left or right
I feel ashamed of being born into western degeneracy. Hope it comes to an end one day
I'm libertarian and I am ashamed of nothing about it.
Ashamed? Hell no. You Magats should be ashamed of supporting a mentally ill criminal, and believing bullshit about the 2020 election and Covid.
No. But I don't call myself a proud Republican because while I have Republican ideals I'm frequently disappointed by my party.
I don’t understand the question.
Why would anyone feel ashamed of what they choose to be?
Apart from voting I don't have an affiliation.
No because I don't pick a tribe instead I use reason on an issue by issue basis. The two party system is a sham designed to manufacture false consent.
tell me how you are able to separate from all since it is a way of life like it or not
