Yes. I always had what I considered to be strong liberal/progressive values, and my 1960s-70s liberal values haven't changed. I believe in social justice, equal opportunity, open mindedness, tolerance, common sense and, above all, liberty and freedom. I distrust authority and am anti-war.
What has changed is what so-called liberalism has become. I don't want anything to do with the word anymore. I have more in common with modern conservatives than modern liberals. I can't even stand to be around modern liberals (loyal Democrats) who think that the Democratic party represents liberalism. They are incapable of critical thought and, instead, allow themselves to be told what to think. Hatred, divisiveness, dishonesty, hypocrisy, judgementalism, censorship, bullying, violence, and jack boot authoritarianism are not what I consider to be liberal.
Years ago, I began to realize that political loyalty is retarded. I'm not influenced by politicians, mainstream media or consensus. And labels like liberal and conservative only create division. They are stereotypes that have nothing to do with an individual's positions on issues.
The brightest and best informed people I know are independent thinkers who scoff at political partisanship and labels.
.
I am a registered independent but most of my views lean right. That doesn’t mean I’m gung ho about everything republican though.
I’ve never been to a rally, protest, put up political signs, worn clothing/pins with political messaging (maga cap), put up political badges on social media profiles, bumper stickers on my car, etc, ad nauseam.
The only thing I am doing is right now I am writing a satire book on 20th century communist dictators. There is a lot of bullshit that comes from the radical left that gets swept under the rug thanks to our very bias leftist publication education system in the west.
For example did you know that lifelong communist dictator Fidel Castro has an estimated net worth of $900 million when he died in 2016? I wonder how much they teach that in history at public high schools and colleges.
Tell us more how Fidel's net worth was swept under the rug by the left and how that effects us negatively?
What is the left sweeping under the rug and what examples do you have that are based in fact not conspiracy? I say that because if you think something is being swept under the rug and have no real evidence that proves it then it isn't technically proven.
@Friendlybro79 i am actually in the midst of writing an entire book about inconvenient facts about communism that was swept under the rug by leftists.
For example have you ever heard of Khmer Rouge? Can you tell the facts about it without googling it?
@friendlybro79 just have to ask: were you ever a Bernie Bro? He spent decades preaching about the evils of “millionaires and billionaires”. Then recently he stopped saying “millionaires” because he BECAME one by PUBLISHING A BOOK ABOUT SOCIALISM. “Become rich and privileged by preaching about the evils of the rich and privileged” is a leftist elitist motto.
I don't have a problem with people making as much as they can just pay taxes. Also, he has stated people like him should be taxed higher which would affect him. An example of putting your money where your mouth is. You can be rich you just need to pay taxes and we should all have access to healthcare and education as examples that our taxes could pay for. That's not communism or full blown socialism just as social security or Medicare doesn't make you a socialist when a person cashes those checks. We are taxed for those two programs and eventually we all benefit from it. That's just being good to each other.
That said corporate Democrats or moderates and avg Republican politicians in my opinion are the least likely to do something to benefit avg people.
As far as Khmer Rouge I have not heard about it so thank you for sharing. Reading into it and it looks awful. Bad folks on the left and right make what avg people stand for look bad. For ex are leftist or right ideologies the issue or what the politicians on either side do once they're in power. Neither side is innocent. And if anyone does something that deserves punishment then I'm for it. Even if I voted for someone without knowing they'd do a bad deed
Not ashamed at all, as around here the effects of Washington are as clear as day. Liberals claim they are helping us but all we see is the loss of freedoms and damage they do.
Seeing damage first hand then they tell us, don't believe what you see first hand... this really is for the best... as we are helping you, by making so many people lose their, stop watching fox news, they lie, while I see people first hand lose their jobs and houses.
Then if I manage to convince a liberal that it is a problem, they say well its a Republican run state... yeah that Biden and Democrats handcuffed on day one.
@aerissa_jade You're not clear on what the damage is by the hands of liberals and the data to support it. You can feel however you want but to validate your feelings requires examples that are fact based not I think based. Also fact based means not opinion. It would need to be something as factual as 1+1 = 2.
I'm not saying you're wrong but no one can understand what you're talking about specifically at all because you haven't given real examples.
@Friendlybro79 Day 1 EO's restricting energy production to help the environment that killed thousands of jobs. Saw it first hand here and in other rural area's. I don't NEED to show you that it happened, you can look it up yourself. I know hundreds of people who have lost their jobs because of that, many lost their homes... but then again fools like you won't believe me cause I won't prove it, it is not my JOB to prove something to you, you either believe me or FUCK OFF and DIE! I don't give a shit. Far as I'm concerned all liberals should be executed as traitors, bullet to the back of the skull.
Oh wait, you need evidence that I hate liberals, so guess everything I just said isn't true because I didn't prove with evidence that I want all liberals dead.
Not really, I like to look into different topics before forming a solid opinion on them. I dont choose opinions by party.
That's how I see people politically, based on their opinions and not the party they voted for, so I'm usually interested in hearing what others think moreso.

I've realized more recently that I'm a progressive that doesn't feel guilty or shame for wanting equality for all and things progressives actually stands for. Not what a corporate controlled right winger news anchor or corporate controlled republican politician says we're all about.
Why should I be ashamed of my political views? by the way, I'm a middle of the road Independent, with some liber views and some conservative views.
I just don't have any political ties or affiliation, nor heavily leaning to either side nor centrism
not ashamed of that either, lol
@pers0n ashamed of what, or why? either way no, I was not ashamed... lol
although I vaguely remember that interaction and I could force my memory to actually recall it fully but right now I am way more interested on something else worth
do you have a link for that question though?
It was on a question about unvaccinated being mistreated or something.
I reminded how trump is a fat pussy and his teeth are half the size of his tranny wife even though the tranny wife is shorter. Because males have proportionally larger teeth.

@pers0n I just don't see why I would feel shame... over Trump and his wife, or whatever you imply here, lol
what does it have to do with me?
@pers0n well you might be ashamed or embarrassed... but not me
and yes that's funnily ironic
@pers0n you should have not felt ashamed about that though...
I do get frustrated at times. As if NPCs are real. Imagine knowing for 100% that the illuminati trannies enslave us and most people hate you for pointing it out? And after you point it out people still act as if any of the shithead politicians are good.
If it was that bad, I wouldn't even reply to you. But I did reply because it is somewhat cringy to use trump as a means of proving vaccines good..
@pers0n my point was never to prove vaccines are good...
certainly would not use Trump as reference for that... lmao
my comment was way way above those assumptions
@pers0n again... you just missed the actual point and the irony of the claims
people do have a selective memory, just like people still "blame Obama for 9/11"
what I feel ashamed of is that stupid Fuentes user racist guy.
Absolutely not. I’m more centrist. But some think I’m far right.
Ashamed? No. We all work with what we have.
I;m mostly conservative, although I believe in evolution and climate change (except we should solve this mindfully not like left-wing parties in Germany)
Nah. Ayn Rand might have had a weird name and looked kinda funny, but I don't mind.
Anyone that votes for a democrat after what they done to economy has to be retarded or n idiot. They deserve to lose house, car, job, and starve to death.
Why be ashamed of something you choose to believe in? That makes no sense.
Nope. It’s what I believe and I’m happy to listen to opposing views. Think it’s a-shame some are far left or right
I feel ashamed of being born into western degeneracy. Hope it comes to an end one day
I'm libertarian and I am ashamed of nothing about it.
Ashamed? Hell no. You Magats should be ashamed of supporting a mentally ill criminal, and believing bullshit about the 2020 election and Covid.
How about Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord? COVID, the election and god forbid the insurrection aside. That wasn't exactly a good example to set for the world to see. Conservatives have a huge problem when it comes to acknowledging the climate crisis humanity is facing.
No. But I don't call myself a proud Republican because while I have Republican ideals I'm frequently disappointed by my party.
I don’t understand the question.
Why would anyone feel ashamed of what they choose to be?
Apart from voting I don't have an affiliation.
No because I don't pick a tribe instead I use reason on an issue by issue basis. The two party system is a sham designed to manufacture false consent.
tell me how you are able to separate from all since it is a way of life like it or not
