Hunters are sadistic, right?

I hunt deer to put dinner on the table. Food in the grocery store gets recalled. Never out in the woods. Plus it’s really nice to sit out in the woods for hours away from work, home, etc. It’s a good time to be out in the woods and just think about your life and things while you wait for a deer to come in. Enjoyable to watch the birds and squirrels too. Heck some people just go out “hunting” to get away and take a nap in the woods and find peace for some hours and I don’t blame them.

When I do get a deer, I do feel bad for the animal. Remember there are slaughter houses where animals are in constant stress and get abused up till death. Out in the wild animals will get mauled to death by wolves, mountain lions, etc. or just hit by a car. I heard a deer get mauled to death by an animal while having a camp fire with my cousin and it sounds like a goat screaming. It’s pretty horrible to hear. If I was a deer, I would take a bullet to the heart than to get mauled or smashed by a car any day.

The worst part of hunting is field dressing. I definitely don’t enjoy it and I don’t think anything else does too. I really hope not. If you’re a little tight on cash to bring your deer into a local butcher you’ll have to butcher it yourself. I’m sure every hunter does that at least once. That’s not fun or enjoyable either.

Now for people out there shooting Huskies and even mistaking a horse as deer (yes that really happened) definitely shouldn’t be hunting and they’re clearly not smart enough to know one of the major rules.
Know what your target is and what lies beyond it.

Nope, no hunters I know of are like that. Everyone that hunts wild turkeys or deer does so for the meat to eat.

They are far more peaceful than the butchers in meat plants that I've seen... seen a baby bull get castrated with a dull knife... now that is sadistic. It wasn't intentionally, they started not realizing how dull it was, but to stop would of left it in pain and it could of died, so they finished the job and sharpened the knife for next time.

Got to love the ignorance of some people though when they say hunters are mean and cruel, they should get their meat at the store like everyone else... like uh, where do you think the store gets it from, those cruel meat plants.

No. Hunters for the most part aren’t sadistic. They’re hunting for food and sometimes for sport. As long as they follow the laws.

We humans eat animals and have been for years. You can’t talk one bad example of anyone and build a straw man out of it. To make everyone look bad.

If you don’t want to hunt. You do you. But. They also sometimes reduce animal populations when they start getting out of control.

I have been a shooter since I was eight years old.
I am also a former soldier and wish that the country in which I have the misfortune to live had a Second Amendment.
I also think that anyone who kills an animal for 'pleasure' is seriously mentally ill. One of my fantasies is to hunt the hunters. I could find out what great warriors they were.

No, not inherently. It is just one means of gathering food from nature, like harvesting. One only becomes a sadist when they revel in the suffering or fear of what they hunt. Most hunters I know, myself included, don't want the animals to suffer or be afraid. We care about nature and love animals. Sure we get excited if we succeed, but that is no different than going to your garden and seeing how plump and healthy your crops are, or how big the morel mushroom you find is.

What was it doing running wild? Dog owner is responsible. Hunters serve a great function.  1) It feeds the homeless 2) it thins out deer which would starve to death slowly

Hunting with hounds is sadistic. I never heard of that happening outside England though. I have no problem with hunting for food, with a rifle. It's probably less cruel than factory farming.
