Why are homophobes so obsessed with bullying gay people?

Is it because they are upset that gay people have more sex than they do.

I think many have these family values which are oriented around reproduction and building a biological family combined very often with religion that makes them think societies and communities will collapse if people "choose" (and I think many of those believe it's some kind of conscious choice) to deviate from their heterosexual reproductive "responsibilities".

I think its more so the classic bully mentality they get a sick pleasure out the reaction. If gay people weren't so extreme with their responses I think people would learn to just not care. Its a classic case in my opinion, of the prey feeding the predator.
