Why are some people so proud of being homophobic?

I don’t think people are proud of it, they’re just standing up for what they believe in. A lot of people, especially the younger generation complain that we should love everyone for who they are, that we should accept them because they’re humans too. Funny how they don’t want to accept people who don’t believer in their ideologies. Imagine in 20 years science determined that homosexuality was indeed a mental health sickness, would you accept it then? What if pedophiles started claiming they were born sexually attracted to children? Would you accept that? If no than why? I’m not saying it’s right because it’s wrong, but if you’re willing to believe people that they are indeed a man trapped in a female’s body or vice versa w no scientific proof why is it ok to say no to the pedo but yes to the other? What about people who have sex w animals? Again something else that is wrong too. You have to try to understand that many of us were raised to believer certain things, it’s what’s worked for us almost all our life. So for you to try to tell someone to disregard a lot of things just like that isn’t going to happen. Especially people who are religious who believe in marriage between a man and a woman. No one is scared of homos either. Amazing how people come up w words to makes others seem like the bad people.

Counter culture is typically going against what is popular, rowing upstream. It's very easy to support trans, gay, feminism and what not right now. It isn't easy to be against those movements.
I'd go as far as to say the legal and social wave for them will create an enormous push back, especially in young people, regardless of if they wind up supporting any organization for that or not.
It's kind of like many people your age will wind up doing drugs or going out with people that are just awful simply because so many people will say how bad of an idea it is. Regardless of the outcome, the more you tell young people not to do something, the more likely the are to do so.

I guess it's because they think that being homophobic is a good thing. They probably believe that everybody agrees with them. Or they feel superior, they think they're better than gay people.

There's no such thing as homophobia. A phobia is an irrational fear, not a hatred, and no one is actually afraid of homosexuals.

I wouldn't call my believes homophobic, I simply just don't agree or support it in any way, people just don't seem to comprehend that, or even accept it, they rather try to force their beliefs on me and call me homophobic because I simply just don't support it, I've never disrespected someone personally because they are gay or lesbian or classify themselves as a helicopter or whatever, I just simply don't agree with it and for some reason now that's considered homophobic, I just refuse to be brainwashed that this stuff is normal and acceptable cause to me it's not, God made a man and a woman and together they have the ability to reproduce, the lgbtq agenda is all revolving around lust because sex was created for reproduction, nothing more, I refuse to agree with any of it.

Because people like you want to control what we think by calling us names (and you think you are so much more mature) and we are proud in asserting our defiance.
