What is “woke” to you, specifically?

. Fake concern about issues that aren't really issues
. Fake, superficial knowledge about issues that aren't really issues or issues that go way over their heads. But... it doesn't matter if the knowledge is fake or superficial. What matters is...
. That people think you know or care about some issue that isn't really an issue.
. Say you possess a virtue and subsequently think of yourself as superior to others, all the while never actually practicing said virtue.
. Follow the cause or movement du jour. Doesn't matter that the one we're ride or die for today completely opposes the one we were ride or die for last week. Last week's is so passé, just go with the trendy thing so you're cool.
. It makes me think of "if your friends jumped off a cliff would you too?" It's peer pressure and I find it surprising that we're back to that because a few years ago the message was to NOT fall for peer pressure and bullying and whatnot. But today that's... cool? Mmkay.
. Always marching about something.
. Spoiled brats who complain that they got a Porsche instead of the Lambo they asked for or something like that. Because the moment they're told about or shown the plights of plenty of other countries, they shut up and quietly realize they have very little to complain about.
I'm sure I have more. But I'll stop here.
Oh my god. One more thing that dawned on me not too long ago.
The woke like to denounce colonialism and imperialism and blah blah blah. They like to denounce the fact that those evil colonials erased the culture of the places they ended up colonizing, thinking of themselves as superior and smarter and oh so advanced in comparison to those poor, uneducated barbarians who just needed to see the light. Right?
Welp, the woke are the exact same. They think people who don't see things the way they do are just uneducated and uncivilized and inferior. Poor souls who just need the woke to wake them up. Doesn't matter that they're doing the same thing those evil colonials did by erasing cultures, because their culture is "better". They see themselves as superior, better (again), more educated and morally upright. Just like the ones they denounce, from like back in the day.
They are what they "hate".
I never found out what woke even means... mostly because I don't care 😄😄😆😆😆
It's "identity politics" (everything framed as being racist, sexist, sexual orientation, etc.) and the (Marxist) belief that every human interaction has a victim and an oppressor, and that there is a hierarchy of victimhood.
When you have the belief that gas prices are sexist or that McDonald's running out of medium soda cup lids is racist, no wonder you would think that there are racists and bigots everywhere. Woke people will invent any reason to make someone a bigot. They've literally said that math is racist and that keeping a schedule is racist. It's racist for non-black people to go see Black Panther, but it will also be racist when it underperformed because "white people didn't support it."
This insanity mostly spews out of colleges, but they work very hard to spread it far and wide, to get it into corporate America, etc., but it is increasingly being rejected, because it is a massive drain on productivity and is massively biased. Even woke Hollywood is being affected as woke projects lose money and are being canceled, and the people funding wokeness are running out of money. The pendulum is swinging...
Wokeism is essentially hyper focusing on immutable characteristics and thinking social interactions revolve around those immutable characteristics enough for us to divide ourselves according to these labels.
It's segregation 2.0 but this time with an anti-majority focus.
If someone says you can't speak about black issues because you are white, they are woke. If someone supports intersectional feminism, they are woke. If someone supports a group of women being kicked out of their own changing room just so one trans person can change there, they are woke.
Woke ideology can be found a lot in college campuses among the far left.
Right wing ideologues who hyper focus on immutable characteristics are the traditional bigots you will see in history books.

I'm aware of its original meaning but I'm also aware the term has now been weaponised by the far right. You call a black guy "a spear-chucking jungle bunny who should be lynched" that's free speech. But if you say that's wrong then you're woke, and somehow that's become worse than being racist.
But to me specifically, it's those " oh here we go again" box-ticking moments such as those adverts with every minority represented in 15 seconds. Yes I know these people exist but I don't want them shoved in my face every two minutes. Woke is simply the over representation of groups.
What a strange false equivalency you’ve cooked up in your head. No one thinks being Woke is worse than being a racist. Woke people ARE the racists. They are just too high on their own bullshit to realize it.
Someone who is educated and informed about the historical context of social issues and their ongoing effects in the modern day, while making a conscious effort to not add to this burden.
Examples: Being aware of, but not celebrating the Confederacy. Avoiding the use of derogatory remarks. Not touching someone unless you know they are comfortable with being touched. Understanding conscious and unconscious bias, and making an honest attempt to avoid it.
@Nomina No, I didn't. You just like attention. So here it is. Enjoy.
Woke should mean aware of your actions and making sure you’re being sensitive and inclusive of others.
what it means is pointing out everything other people do wrong but never thinking you do anything wrong either
To me it's just basic human decency. But I get why indecent people are spending so much to make others believe it has something to do with victimized right wingers or whatever.
Woke to the "right" is concerns that they don't want to address as it makes them uncomfortable.
Woke to the "left" is issues that should be to the forefront.
It means social awarenes of injustices or perceived injustices against minorities.
woke = Stop thinking by yourself and become a tool of those who want to control you.
I usually just call modern liberal stuff that. Like unnecessarily changing the definition of female (and not even changing it to a good woke definition) or hiring as many African Americans as possible for commericals. Of course, I don't think stuff like that is inherently bad (except for that poorly written professional definition), I do find some of it to be overdone though.
i don't really understand it. life was so much easier when they couldn't ride in the front of the bus
woke = "shut up! my problems are more important yours!"
One of the countless right-wing buzzwords. It used to be "PC culture", then it turned into "SJWs", now it's "wokeness". It's all the same meaningless nonsense.
A bunch of idiots pushing a bunch of crap that nobody else Ikes wants watches and could care less about
Being aware. Caring that you're aware, and taking responsibility for the fact that you are aware
Empathy.
Nothing but pure garbage
A cult
I don't know. how they talk about people who oppose them.
Like blaire whire for example... (s) he's a tranny who doesn't tow the lgbt line and gets hounded by them for it as if her being a trans person obligates her to go along witg their rethoric.
Kanye west and larry elder are apparently no longer black.
Cunts.
