Like many people I was shocked about the midterms. Many Americans are furious with what the Biden administration has done to our economy and inflation. That impacts everyone no matter if you are man or woman, white or black, democrat or liberal. Early polls predicted a huge red wave. Instead it looks like the Republicans are barely going to take the house and will likely lose the senate

There is a small silver lining that Ron DeSantis absolutely blew the gubernatorial election out of the water by histórical margins. This is going to help set him up to be republican frontrunner in the 2024 election. He’s young, smart, tough and has the self discipline and common sense to think twice before blurting out something stupid. Now if Trump just get off his high horse and back DeSantis vs. self sabotaging the entire Republican Party that would be great. But who knows.

Anyway back to the midterms. Unmarried women absolutely favored democrats in exist polls 68 to 31. That’s insanely huge margins. But do they NOT know that the overturning of roe vs Wade is a Supreme Court decision and NOT a senate/congress or state governor decision? Senate in particular have NO say on the state abortion regulations. Congress and governors can impact local legislation but not Senate. Yet women blindly voted all democrat pushing non cognitive functioning brain damaged zombies like Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman to re-election.

Do unmarried women not care about inflation and the recession? And yes Biden IS mostly to blame for all this. He pushed through trillions of dollars in unnecessary spending and his administration severely limited domestic oil production. But does that sound too “boring” to worry about? Like who cares if you lose your job or your actual real earnings are now worth 20% less than 2 years ago. As long as we have democrats saying they are pro choice that is what matters right?

Well, even women who don't think they would ever want or need an abortion know how extreme some of these states have gotten where it is banned. Even with the exception to save a woman's life that means a woman's life has to be in immediate danger for doctors and hospitals to be comfortable acting. Many hospitals and doctors in Texas, Tennessee, etc. have been women out of state even with dangerous pregnancies, or women who have a premature rupture of membranes where the fetus won't survive for very long are told they have to go home and come back when they show signs of infections before the can remove the fetus if the heart is till beating. Or a woman could be diagnosed with cancer at the same time which happens more often than people realize and the wouldn't be allowed to start treatment while they are pregnant which would threaten her life but not right at that instance so they would have to forgo an abortion or travel a long distance. Even women who are against elective abortion don't like the idea of the government deciding on how dangerous pregnancies will be treated and too many doctors are afraid of going to prison if they act who can blame them? I know those situations are rare but even still they do happen.

Then Lindsay Graham had to throw even more fuel on the fire with his 15-week abortion ban proposal which would not reverse the strict bans it would only impose a ban on places that did not have a ban or were not as strict. People don't trust the "for the life of the mother" exceptions in that either as it's still too vague, and no exceptions for a non-viable fetus.

There are also situations when young women and girls who are children have been raped and many think that there should exceptions for those situations which many of the states with bans do not have exceptions in those situations.

Then ofcourse there are those who don't believe a person's soul starts without a functioning brain and so they are not sold on the idea that abortion in the first trimester is murder. I know there is birth control but I have met women that have used very effective birth control and still got pregnant, they didn't have abortion but just saying it happens.

I think this issue is deeper and more nuanced than some of these prolife legislators have acknowledged and being tone death to the concerns that I've mentioned above is not going to win them votes by men and women who have these concerns.

Sorry so long but those are not only my thoughts and opinions but also from what I've observed here, on other forums and in person.

This is actually one of the better and more thoughtful responses I’ve gotten. I respect that. You brought up some good points unlike some the other radical leftist morons on here.

I am not 100% diehard pro life and I do believe some states did make abrupt changes without thinking through all the ramifications. Then other states doubled down on pro choice by using tax payer money (which is bullshit in my opinion) to perform abortions.

Personally even though I am pro life I am VERY pro birth control all the way up to plan B. I also believe we need put more money into contraceptive research and development to make unwanted pregnancies a thing of the past.

But anyway can you still me with a straight face that the Biden administration has been nothing short of a disaster? He was elected to be a moderate but he has been nothing but. He had passed insane legislation that is ultimately harming everyone. Inflation and the recession harms the poor and working class the most and that’s who the democrats supposedly care for.

And yes I know the economy is not always directly tied to political administrations. But we are supposed to be in a economic boom right now not a f*cking recession. All Biden had to do was get out of the way. But nooo…. he had to cater to the radical left.

U. S. Congressmen and Senators do not have a say in state abortion regulations, true. However, they can codify the abortion rights contained in Roe into federal law. It would legalize abortion across the nation. That is the goal of the pro-choice movement. It’s not that inflation isn’t important to women. It’s that expanding a fundamental freedom is more important. Inflation is a temporary inconvenience. It’s already slowing and it’s the Fed who will eventually get it under control, not Congress. We also are smarter than you think and not susceptible to your propaganda. Trump’s tax cuts and Chinese tariffs have directly contributed to inflation. Biden has actually decreased deficit spending from the Trump years. I also call BS on oil production. U. S. Presidents do not control private industry. They only control drilling on federal land, which accounts for only a small percentage of the domestic market……. and Biden has approved more drilling permits than Trump did. Supply chain issues, worker shortages, OPEC cutbacks and the fact that over 100 smaller gas and oil companies went out of business during the pandemic have more to do with what is going on with the price at the pump. The thing is I am actually very pro birth control (including state birth control) but I draw the line on abortion.

But noticed how so many people are so deranged that they lost their “sacred right” to kill an unborn baby fetus. However abortion has NOT been federally banned. The overturning of roe vs Wade (which was horrible ruling in the first place) was all about giving the power back to the STATES. Some states not only kept abortion it legal but expanded access via tax payer funded dollars.

But the bigger issue is inflation and the economy. Look how many people care more about their sacred abortion vs an issue this impacts EVERYBODY. You can prevent pregnancies. You can’t prevent inflation.

We are now seeing the highest consumer price index inflation priced in 50 years. And yet the Biden administration continues to spend trillions of dollars on legislation on crap most Americans do not need nor can afford.

Skyrocketing inflation and a recession also most severely impacts the poor and middle class which the democrats supposedly care about. Just saying.

Also a downturn in the economy not only skyrockets homelessness but also impacts depression, drug use and crime. Inner city murder rates are already sky high and now things are going to get only worse for at risk communities.

But at least we have the woman’s “right to choose” despite the fact many states not only kept it legal already but doubled down using tax payer money for abortion. I guess getting pregnant was some sort of inevitable problem as if women aren’t incapable of making better decisions and birth control. Sure a few anecdotal incidents happened like the 11 year who got pregnant (who was raped by an illegal immigrant). But those incidents are not the rule but an exceedingly rare incident. by the way I fully support abortion in case like that and other special circumstances (incest, physical danger to a mother, rape, etc). Abortion is NOT banned in most states. The right to kill your fetus is not only still legal in many states but also funded by tax payer dollars now. Hell some corporations will pay for your trip (Uber) if you need to leave the state for an abortion.

But you know what keep down this path. Let’s see how an 82 year old Biden when an extremely low approval rating fared in 2024.
