Meanwhile there are 407,000 already alive children in foster care… who are dying to have a family yet we care about fetuses.😑

As a christian, I will say this. God himself said in the bible: "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.". God is the creator of life, and from the very moment of your conception, God already knew you. He already gave you life. So by that standard, a foetus is a life. A life worth no less than the life of any human being.

That aside, when it comes to consensual sex that resulted in unwanted pregnancy, it is my belief that one has to take responsibility for his/her actions. Men who end up getting a woman pregnant owe a responsibility to both her and their child to be with them and to be a good father. Women who get pregnant are responsible for carrying their child to term and being a good mother. Running away and cutting contact with the pregnant mother, is definitive of a father shirking his responsibilities; and getting an abortion is also definitive of a mother shirking her responsibilities.

However, I DO NOT and CANNOT force this way of thinking onto other people. I respect that I have no right or say over what they want to do, and I should respect and accept them as fellow humans, even if the decisions they make go against my beliefs.

There are also cases where the unwanted pregnancy was a result of sexual assault or contraceptive failure, which further stirs up the conflict. Even more so, I will respect their decisions and feelings, because I cannot understand what issues they are facing, and what emotions they are feeling.

I may have a different standpoint and opinion than what you believe, but what is important is respect for differing opinions, and respect for the other person as a human.

Not sure, we don't hear a lot about adoption in these groups, primarily "church". But I do see people in church/pro life adopting kids, just not enough of them. Reality is, there should be strong promotion to adopt these kids and get them in homes, your point is valid.

As well, there should be strong promotion by such people to care about the fetuses development into human beings with all the support needed, rather than just the focus on being born. That would create more impetus to help homeless, those who are down and need services to get started.

The answer is... they "feel" more for defenseless unborn and it is what is talked about. They'd care about foster kids if the others were talked about more.

So go to church if you aren't and start talking... good idea!

This is nothing more or else then a personal question.
You either keep your child or you don't.

The outcome is what the parents situation is, they should be free to do as they want and feel they are confident in doing.

And its all depending on what kind of life they are living, what is the most logic thing to do. Can we raise this child good and give it our best or are we so poor, perhaps out of humanity we cannot keep it.

Life is not meant to be forced because some cannot accept that reality is not the same for everyone.

No parent likes dismissing a child. And there should not be arguments from others to rub salt in their wounds for their decision.

Pestering others because some dissaprove is very immature. Please try and use perspective before judging.

Your claim is false. Less than 1/3rd (about 125,000) of children in foster care are available for adoption. That is not insignificant number but making a false statement doesn't help your argument.

Furthermore, reliable sources estimate that there are about 2 million couples currently waiting to adopt in the United States — which means there are as many as 36 waiting families for every one child who is placed for adoption and about 80 million couples, at one time or another, have considered adoption.

I don't know how it works in your country or cultural view, but in my country, it's not one or the other. It's not as though, if you care about unborn children, you don't care about orphans or children separated from their parents (we don't have a foster system here that I know of).
At least culturally, it's valuing the life of children, born or not. There are a lot of organizations (religious, non-religious) that care for orphans or abandoned kids, things like that.
I don't know anything about the adoption system here, but I do know of those organizations and that people can sponsor children, their education, medical care, etc. It may not be the best but they do try to do their best.

I fins the whole discussion strange. Why is it stuck at a yes or no?

Realistically I think almost no one is opposed to a minute one measure to prevent pregnancy, or taking precautions beforehand. No one is really out here arguing people need to get pregnant every month to not waste eggs or that men are forbidden from wasting sperm.

I also doubt anyone is arguing in favour of standardizing 9 month abortions.

So the real discussion surely has to be about at what point things change. Not if it is allowed at all?

Because it's possible to care about two different things at once, you can chew gum and walk at the same time yes? Every child needs loving home and parents and that's inside the womb and outside the womb. One should not be considered less than other cause a human life is still a human life. I'm prolife and want kids in foster care to find loving people who will not harm them and be good parents to them. As a society, when children are abandon we are all suppose to come together and help raise a child up. Hense the saying it takes a village to raise a child.

It's a great question.

Pro-lifers don't care about children. It's a rallying point for political fundraising. If they cared, they would be in favor of policies that support mothers, for example leave after giving birth and preschool programs. Both of which they call "handouts". Of course, they support foster parents whose only motivation is their per-child stipend. Those parents are mostly low-income, conservative voters.

Both are probably obsessed with a fetus for the same reason.

The some anti abortion people believe the the prevention of a potential life is better than the termination of a developing life, so they agree with birth control.

Some prolifers believe all birth control is wrong. Some anti abortion people believe the mother's life is more important than a fetus, so abortion is tolerated then. Many anti abortion people believe abortion is permissible for cases of incest or rape.

Some pro abortion people believe in no limits on abortion. Are there limits? Why can't parents abort a 23 year son or daughter that still lives at home with no job. Is this a good economic reason for the parents?

One thing the anti abortion and pro abortion forces have in common is taking personal responsibility for your choices.
