If he legally purchased a firearm, then he passed his electronic background check. Thousands slip through the system each year. Get educated yourself. Regardless of what he volunteers on the form, the sale will go through if there isn’t anything in the database to dispute it. People routinely lie. That is where missing state records often come into play……if they even exist at all in his case. The drug prohibition on receipt of a firearm is only for one year from the time of use, so it’s possible the sale was entirely legal.
