Are the Japanese the most respectful and courteous people in the world?

When we see how the Japanese behave during the world cup today and in other events, their sense of cleanliness, respect, and humility, I am really admiring the Japanese for that.

On the outside Exterior they are very polite, proud of their country and will be very helpful and act loyal, nice to you.

Their hardcore culture is incredibly hard to understand.

They can be very very odd and If you know some Japanese and they don't know you do. You shouldn't be alarmed hearing somebody say something pretty rude about you while giving a Smile at the same time 👍

This does not apply to everyone, douches are everywhere I suppose.

I've gotten to know both of their kinds. The genuin ones are nice for sure and very funny! They joke and laugh a lot 😁

Most of the world hold to Conservative values, whether one agrees with them or not, outside of the West. I can not think of a country in Asia that does not conduct themselves in a more controlled and friendly manner than most of the West 🤷🏻‍♂️

I question why the country so easily joined forces with the Germans for WWII. Mind you that was a different time.. my point is curb appeal is set up everywhere. You can’t always take appearances for what they are.

Culturally it is important to understand that the outwards facade is *extremely* important in both Japanese and south east Asian communities. To be polite regardless of your emotions or moods is paramount, so yes, by cultural mandate they are but it also results in a lot of emotional repression and "fakeness" as I've heard it.

Yes, the Japanese are so respectful they watch wrestling matches in silence and applaud politely at the end. And Japanese wrestling is intense!

They're not so respectful when they have you in a POW camp though. Better to shoot yourself than let yourself be captured.

Not necessarily. Japan is a very closed society and some Japanese can be disrespectful and discourteous to foreigners.

Finding the "most respectful and courteous people in the world" is an exercise in futility.

I think towards themselves and in foreign countries they are, but in Japan to foreigners, certainly not. At least not all of them. They get easily triggered when someone doesn't do things by THEIR book.
