Usually there are limits depending on the state. If the truck is so jacked up it affects the center of gravity and stability, it should not be allowed.

I drove a big truck (tanker) and I can tell you the importance of stability and control.

Exactly right yet I think a lot of these trucks that are modified after purchase wind up not being particularly stable or easy to control and represent a serious safety hazard.

Actually, now that I think about it the correct statute would likely be under maximum/minimum bumper height.

All big truck trailers have a bumper in the rear called a "DOT bumper" that is covered with the red/white reflective tape, called DOT tape. The bumper height is mandated as too many people who rear-ended trailers were being decapitated.

At least in California I don't think we have any of the kind of rules and regulations regarding configuration that you're talking about, at least for small trucks. I've seen pickup trucks in this state that must be 10 ft off the wheels driving around with no bumpers. It also might be that the highway patrol and the cops don't bother to enforce any laws that there are against these kinds of configurations because they have the same sort of trucks themselves. That would not surprise me here.

No man, you have a skewed view of cops. I was a cop for six years, and we mostly drive Hondas, ford's, and family grocery getters. I never knew a cop who drove a red neck monster.

yes, I would want one too. I drive pickup trucks or larger SUVs because I want to be the one that is the survivor in an accident. A Sherman Tank would be just the vehicle for me as I drive through the urban jungle.

Yes, it is a circular intersection that has multiple entrances and exits. The right of way is usually the vehicle that is biggest and in the event of a tie it is the one that is oldest and more beat up.

Oh you mean a roundabout. I'm sorry I wasn't quite sure what you were referring to based on what you wrote before. I know a lot about roundabouts considering that they seem to have them all over Europe. On top of that, there is even one very close to where I live here in the us. They are very handy but can be very dangerous too.

Well the monthly mortgage on a place around here is basically what I payed for the truck, but no I don’t mind paying for fuel. I have a little car for bombing around the city and the truck isn’t bad at all on the highway
