What is something that you wish more people on G@G were aware about?

Be aware - I scroll past all questions by anonymous askers and will not respond to any anonymous comments.

There is a small percentage of questions by anonymous askers that I might consider to be worthy of my time in composing an answer, but after having experienced repeated foul behavior from some anonymous users, it's not worth it to me to allow those users to indulge in their anonymity.

There are a few types of anonymous users. Here is my message to them:

1) LEGITIMATE ANONS - To those who post anonymously for legitimate reasons and who might like to hear my view on a subject, I'm sorry, but I will not respond until a sea change in anon behavior takes place. My ego is not so large as to think that someone posts anonymously and then sits waiting for my reply, but still, there are other legitimate users who share my view and will not respond to anons. That's too bad for the legitimate anonymous posters.

2) HABITUAL ANONS - To those who unnecessarily post anonymously merely out of habit (in my opinion this category comprises the vast majority of anon posting), ask yourselves if doing so is necessary or even desirable. I can guarantee that you're only getting a fraction of the responses that you otherwise might get if you posted under a username. Also, by continually posting anonymously for no good reason, you dilute the value of those who want to post anonymously for valid reasons. Ask yourself if anon is necessary before clicking that anon button. You'll be doing the entire G@G community a favor by refraining from anon posting when it's not needed.

3) COWARDLY ANONS - To those who intentionally post anonymously because doing so allows you to behave immaturely while hiding behind a wall of anonymity, grow up and grow a pair.

Since there is no way for me to know which type of user is behind that anonymous wall, I will not engage with any anonymous users.

There are a couple of user-named posters here with which I seem to have a continually opposing viewpoint. We have learned to avoid each other. As much as I may disagree with them, they have my respect for posting under a username.

I see. Yes it's pretty bad sometimes. They block you so they can only hear what they want to hear and as a result they keep having the same problem and rant about things not working out.

I've had enough of people trying to convince me to accept their opinion, to the point of arguing when I am calmly trying to explain my POV. People actively try to prove themselves right, as if they are their opinion is the only justified one.

IKR, I just dont get it, people often fail to try looking at things from other perspectives, and even so, they fail to recognise that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we should respect that.

Aka, you dont say things to please people. You just put your point out there. Which is a great approach, if you always recalibrate and rethink your opinions. Its good to always present a balanced view

Good on you. Just make sure your POV is always balanced and makes room to appreciate valid points other people bring up, so there is no way you'll lose in an argument

But then again no point getting into arguments even if your points are all solid, people ain't gonna accept them and will start attacking you instead
