Is the term "redskins" offensive?

Question was inspired by Disney removing "Peter Pan" from Disney+, with the official reason quoting use of the word "redskins".

Offensive is in the eye of the people who stand to be offended... if they don't like it, it's offensive. Not every Native American is going to feel the same way about this either... so... not really for me to say what's offensive to someone else.

Here is the voter registration, sorted by party, for the counties in my area of the state, and the state total. Alachua and Leon Counties are aberrations for this area because of the university and state government. Southern Florida is more heavly Democrat because of all the northern Democrats who move to that part of the state.

I live near two Indian reservations. I call Indians, Indians, and Indians call themselves Indians. The Indians have a big recreational center, and on the side of the building you will find the word "Indian."

I think that all races could live in harmony, if you just got rid of the white woke.

No- offense is taken, not given. A thing can be found offensive, but that's a trait of the perceiver, not the thing in question. Personally, I find censorship offensive; you don't see Disney agreeing with me.

If you want my two cents, the term doesn't have anywhere near enough power behind it to be offensive, but people are quite soft these days.
