After buying Twitter, Elon Musk’s has turned the social media platform into a dumpster fire.

His crazed right wing comments have alienated Twitter advertisers and petrified Tesla investors. He's destroyed his public image by trashing the very progressives who WERE BUYING HIS TESLAS.

Musk blames the economy for Tesla's shareholder wipeout but that's obviously crap. Sure, markets are down but the S&P 500 are down 20% in 2022 while Tesla is down 65%!

People seem to undervalue luck in the success of people like Musk. He was in the right place at the right time when he started Tesla. He's no genius, just lucky.

Tesla was wildly overpriced and would have gone bankrupt years ago in a real market without government subsidies and manipulated investors.

What's amazing to me is that Musk spent years as an illusionist crafting a public image as a genius and mustered a huge legion of fans.

He's totally tanked that in a matter of weeks and didn't seem to think it would happen. He was shocked when a crowd booed him (for the first time) a few weeks ago at a Dave Chappelle show. It went on for a solid 10 minutes and only stopped after he left the stage. He is Tesla and he's trashed his image in the eyes of those most likely to buy his cars, what a moron!

Remember when Disney's CEO made a statement opposing the "don't say gay" bill in Florida and conservatives went absolutely crazy? He did it because Disney has a lot of LGBTQ employees, fair enough. No one needs to inform analysts that Tesla buyers are largely left of center. That's well known. Why do people buy EV's? It's not so they can only drive 150 miles before waiting 45-60 minutes to charge instead of 5 minutes to fill up. Who wants to shell out an additional $20,000 once the batteries need replacement? It's not for their convenience or cost savings either. A lot of people buy them thinking that in doing so they're being "environmentally conscious" .

People on the right who denigrate solar power and think climate change is a conspiracy are most definitely not Tesla's customer base.

Musk is becoming very popular with conservatives, he's on track to go from entreprenial genius to Trump's political aire at the low cost of his dignity and $200 billion.

If he paid capital gains tax on the $200 billion instead of losing it, he would have paid 20% which is $20 billion in taxes and been left with $180 billion.

In your scenario he lost all $200 billion to claim as a write off against future profits, meaning he won't pay capital gains tax if he makes it back. At most that's a 20% benefit or $20 billion in taxes he won't pay.

How the hell does it make sense to give up $180 billion to avoid $20 billion in taxes? It doesn't.

Alex Berenson's lawsuit was filed way before Musk took over Twitter, Elon had nothing to do with revealing anything filed in it.

The suit demonstrated how strongly the administration's was taking the threat of misinformation and conspiracy theories about COVID vaccines on social media platforms but no coercion was revealed.

The judge actually dismissed Berenson's free speech claims but ruled against Twitter for the way they changed their terms of service and then banned him (just like Musk has done with other journalists).
