Brainwashing? I don't think I'd say that (that is such a strong term). But having a significant influence in their lives in a negative and impactful way? Yes.

Our American culture in general is destroying the family structure (usually by either removing the man or leading women to the wrong men that force him to be removed) and not putting a lot of attention to raising the young.

With absent adult figures in their lives who are they to look up to? They then turn to celebrities. Most of these people are Narcissists so they in turn impart it onto the young.

Even in good family structures you can still get problems. I had a decent one, but I ended up falling into hyper sexuality. A lot of my heroes growing up had this problem. Adrian Peterson comes instantly to mind. Other might eventually.

I am quite sure abuse can become part of a family culture.

A friend was abused as a young girl and with my support and that of another friend plus a social worker spoke out against it. Her immediate family disowned her.

Down her matriarchal line, the women in her family had been abused and then chose abusive men as husbands. You'd have to say there was a family culture there.

Now that is not answering the question. Family is going to be far more an important influence. But I think we can say famous people could be some influence towards abuse. Not the most significant, not necessarily an influence but could certainly be a poor influence on some.

Not really. Not unless they have issues themselves, and start to believe their own b. s.

If they have a product line, then they will lie to sell product.

If they're Kanye, they are a megalomaniac who has a God complex, and they do want to affect how people think.

The rest... no, it's mostly the public's fault for idolizing them and following them as if they're disciples. (Ex: 'Swifty's, 'The Bee Hive.') No one needs to take life advice from entertainers. Just enjoy the music, and leave the rest.

No, brainwashing isn't easy it involves removing ideas that are well ingrained in the mind and replacing with new ones.

What famous people do is the opposite. They spot groups of people and tell them what they want to hear. People love having their views reflected back at them and if a celebrity is endorsing them all the better.

Nope. First, they're neither that clever nor that invested. Second, they have staff and the REALLY isn't that clever.

People WANT to buy into whatever it is. (And sometimes they genuinely like that thing too.) It's not brainwashing. Some of it might be marketing but a lot of it is people wanting to belong and connect and a lot of what famous people have to offer intersects at what people like and their need to belong and connect.
