Question for the ladies that get mad at their men for this.

When we go to the bathroom we are in trouble for not lifting the seat up or if we do we get in trouble for leaving the seat up,
Why are we forced to notice what position the seat is when we go?
Why not use your eyes and look at the position of the seat before sitting to pee?

If it is up just put it down like we need to put it up.

We are the same we wake up in the middle of the night tired as hell in the dark go pee and need to turn on a light to see what position the lid is in so we don't get yelled at

This is a petty argument that's a sign of deeper issues you and your partner have with each other. Specifically that you're falling into routines and neither of you are really talking about the changes in your life. You can complain about it as much as you want but the reality is I think either you or your girlfriend are getting tired of each other and this toilet seat argument is one of those easy-to-spot signs.
It's a toilet seat. If it bugs you both that much, just keep the lid down with the seat so that way you both have to lift something up when you use the bathroom.

This is not something that would occur to me. I never need to go in the middle of the night. But I see your point.

How about proposing a compromise? You'll remember to put the seat down if she can remember to leave it up overnight.

I have a pet dog, keeping the seat down became automatic because the dog would have a drink then come in the room in the mornings and lick my girlfriend or me in the face.
