I do not particularly care. Fundamentally, I dont really care about the president of Ukraine which is why I also do not really care if he gets killed and becomes a martyr. He is the figurehead of the country. His actual job is to look good and become the point where his people can unify their efforts, something he has succeeded in well enough.

The people who actually control the country is the people underneath him that handles the day-to-day job of managing a country. They are the people who actually wields the power and know what is going on because they can focus on a smaller slice of the responsibility rather than have to try wrap your head around the entire national situation like a king would have.

Also you completely misunderstand how diplomacy works. It was never how much you liked someone, the best of friends would waste no time assassinating the other if the situation called for it. Diplomacy is about ruthless selfishness. A diplomat will do anything in his power to get just a sliver extra in any negotiation, be it begging, lying, threatening or pretending to be friends with someone they hate. Personal feelings are just there to be exploited.

As such, the reason why so many countries are tripping over themselves to hand Ukraine their stuff for free is because it benefits THEM. The fact that it benefits Ukraine too is probably not even on their minds. I really wish people understood this better.
