Why is humanity always at war?

It's so scary to realize how common war is for humanity, WW1, WW2 then Vietnam, the Gulf war, Iraq now Ukraine, why can't we all just live in peace?

Sure we're going to have differences but we work to solve them through diplomacy but that rarely happens, seems to me like there's just a lot of aggressive evil leaders out there.

War is diplomacy by other means. I think for the most part you are mistaken in blaming it on aggressive evil leaders entirely. We tend to talk about innocent civilians but I think they are far from innocent and contribute to a lot of the evil of war.

There always has been war, even chimps have been observed to go to war. Mostly over fear and wanting something somebody else has got. The theory is I want a bit of your land that you don't want to give me. We argue and threaten each other. Than I think the cost of a war is less than what that land is worth to me. Or you think I will eventually go to war over it and that you will be in a relativistic better position to go now rather than later. So you go early (ditto in WW1 and WW2).

If our war becomes too costly than that patch of land is worth then maybe we might negotiate to split it in some way.

The problem with Ukraine is this war is existential. Certainly is for Ukrainians who don't want to become Russians. It nearly is for Europeans particularly Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania. Whether it is for Russia is debatable but it probably is for Putin. Given Russia has broken Budapest, Minsk 1 & 2 there is very little chance of diplomacy. Would you buy a used broken peace agreement from Russia? A strong armed border would make more sense. Tank traps and tank mines all the way along would make more sense.

I do take exception to your statement the Chinese hate war. Certainly Xi Jinpeng is threatening war. The everyday Chinese are showing a liking for wolf warrior diplomacy. Certainly the CCP is disregarding an international court ruling on the south China Sea and seeking to take control of the Philippines exclusive economic maritime zone (EEZ). Recently a Chinese ship fired a military laser at an Australian maritime patrol plane within our EEZ. I haven't mentioned Taiwan yet.

This is where civilians stop being innocent. Before WW2 Goebbels asked a rally "Do you want TOTAL war?" and crowd enthusiastically answered yes. The Chinese people are showing enthusiasm for asserting Han power and the CCP is playing to that. Putin is similarly playing to the Russian imperial traditions in reclaiming 'lost land'.

A large part of national aggression stems from innocent civilians who ultimately demanding war as they did in that Nazi rally.

To be honesty, I think democracy is wrong maybe it just for pass-throught but western especially USA take it as faith as if god. They got used it to live under the age of theocracy so it is hard to wake them up. Just went out a dream to go in another dream.

If system base on humen evil and that is the best way to connect each other. We should not seek more as nazi nationlisms like USA enthusiasm. They just feel boring and basing on the system and start to think that is ok to want more. Msny policy start to tie them. so now it is a mess.
