Why can’t humankind grow out of wars?

Question

I have seen how wars ruin people,

Death is probably one of the luckiest things to happen during wars,

Unluckier ones survive and they live with constant nightmares and become a shadow of once sparkled eyed, hopeful, bright young people, who believed in the good of the world.

The fear, the horror of the past is too heavy to carry and It’s easier to go insane than to face the gruesome reality of how evil people can be.

Those men, could be our sons, our brothers, our fathers, our lovers.

And those who win, can they peacefully live with the monster they have turned into on the battlefield? Can they ever truly forgive themselves and live like before again?

I don’t think so…

I don’t think life can ever be the same again before and after the war.

Then why, why don’t we learn?

In the end, all of us, every single one of us, dreams of being happy, going to our families and hugging our loved ones.

Why do we deprive each other from the chance of doing so?

It's because people are selfish and self centered. If someone else has something they don't have, or that they just want, people who lack a deep moral foundation (which is a LOT of people) will want to take it by force rather than working harder to earn it.

This is why it is SO important for society to have strong moral standards - standards that have stood the test of time - and not allow wholesale changes to those morals.

That's exactly what happened to all of the left-run cities that are falling apart and dying today. Soros started funding lower level candidates - DAs and mayors and county supervisors - and they implemented far-left social policies that completely abandoned the social values that stood the test of time. They made shoplifting a misdemeanor (and the DAs are only starting to prosecute felony shoplifters now because of the political backlash), they defunded the police, they give free cash to "homeless" addicts who do nothing but commit property crime between drug binges, and they have poured billions of dollars to house the homeless in luxury apartments as the problems on the streets continue to get worse.

Downtown businesses are either already gone or planning their exits. In-And-Out Burger just closed a store for the first time in 50 years of business (in Oakland), and a reporter doing a report on that story was robbed while doing the report. Oakland no longer has a Walmart anywhere in the city, and other big businesses like Home Depot are looking to leave. Target, Walgreens, CVS, Safeway, and many others have closed their Oakland stores (along with San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, and other places where police were defunded and crime skyrocketed.

Morals are what they are because time and lots of experience has proven them to be vital for a functional society. When you abandon morals, you get chaos, and when you abandon them at the state level, you get war.

Did you know combat experience reduces life expectancy by about 10 years compared with civilian men. Or with non-combatant troops such as medics who are in the same environment but are not being shot at as much. The reduced life expectancy is not due to wounds; it is for those who had combat experience but were unwounded.

Sadly civilians have treated their combatants very poorly on return. One family I was associated with treated a WW2 bomber pilot with contempt for the reactions he would have for past memories.

We can see why this happens today with the Axis powers of Russia and China wanting to be able to exert old fashion Empirical power. Your country Georgia is sadly a classic case.

Georgia is a desirable piece of country but with a low population. Perfect target for a larger neighboring country to take over with little effort. In WW2 both Germans & Soviets forced Ukrainians to fight on their side against Ukrainians forced to fight on the other side. A classic Empire tradition.

I don't think we fully realize how significant the post war WW2 disposal of Empires was and the UN guarantee of border security and self determination. Despite UN-CLOS legal rulings on Sea of China country boundaries, China is deliberately choosing not to accept them.

Might is right is the why.

Whilst China is putting much effort into rearming, it is highly critical of Australia and Japan refreshing it's military. The hypocrisy is laughable but this is how wars/fighting starts. Might is right views.

Paradigm . Same reason people believe in race yet it has no scientific basis. It only brings division and retards the progress of everyone. You cannot change until and unless you start to think from a new perspective and people refuse to do that. That's why 97% people never get what they want out of life. It's so simple.

As long as we can describe some members of our species as monsters, I think we need to go to war with them to protect those we don't consider monsters. If people consider rape as monstrous as I do, then we might need to engage in self-defensive violence to prevent rapists from raping more people. Most wars aren't enacted in self-defense nearly as much as they should be, but we have to always be prepared for it as I see it because there's some threshold where a "them" emerges hopelessly away from "us", and that's why we have to fight to protect our loved ones.

The cause of war isn't always about just ruining anyone's lives. Many people have different reasons for it and most of the time, the military is made for defense. We humans are social creatures who expand and work together to survive and as we voice out their own point of views, it can cause disagreements and conflicts which no one also always depends on one's point of view of what's right or wrong. So if humans were never social and just live under a rock, we all would've been long gone getting swallowed by bigger predators and nature by itself. And that's not even just a human thing. Many animals group themselves and expand to survive. We humans are just the smartest compared to other animals which gives us big advantage.

Depends on the reason for the war.

We don't deprive anyone of life. Our leaders often don't care about the little guy, they only care about the offense the other leader has shown them or the resources they can gain by force.

But at the same time, I personally can't sit by and watch injustice. If you were in an abuse situation wouldn't you want someone to go to "war" for you.

In the end, the evil inside Man is the real source of all war.

Also, the Spanish-American War freed some people groups including the Philippines, but we (Americans) could not leave them the fukk alone until 1902. However, war with Japan finally gave them Liberty in 1946.
