If you lived in the 30s, 60s and the 90s, there was a major difference in how the world looked throughout your life. 2020 doesn't look much different than 1990, and it's likely 2050 won't look much different either.
Why have we stopped innovating?

I don't know what you're talking about. A lot of things have changed. Internet load become much faster, dial up connection is replaced with a Wi-Fi, and phone had even their personal hotspot in them which acts as Wi-Fi as well. GPS, QR Code also appear in 2010s. Corded and cordless phones were replaced by smartphones that were so much better than those damn bricks.
Streaming service replaced most of the video rental chains and sure, you have Redbox, but not much else.
Gaming improved so much in terms of graphics and ability.
You can find much more improvement in other categories such as medical and other fields. You just need to open your eyes.
Both options are wrong. We are living in the best possible time ever. Longest lifespan, best technology, etc. And no, everything can never be “invented” already.
But we are confused as a country on which direction we want to go. Much like after the Great Depression. We became isolationist, stopped funding infrastructure, and America seemed like it was drying up.
But then the govt started investing, people started getting jobs again, education became a priority. Funny how history repeats….
