While the US was trying to determine what a woman is, other nations were investing in innovations, including the advancements in high speed rail (which the US still lacks today).

Meanwhile, not only have we delayed innovative solutions, we are seeing crumbling infrastructure and education systems. We still have many areas that lack EMS and other emergency services as well.

Defense is not the only benefit the military serves. They also benefit civilian life with research, intelligence, and the invention of solutions for EMS/prehospital emergency care. Advancements in intraosseous infusions, for example, were brought about by the military. Modern EMS overall was influenced by military advancements.
