I did not read the article, however I find it hilarious this is suggested.
Sure, just skip breakfast because you can’t afford it while your government spends money like a drunken sailor and sends it all over the world, floods the job market with illegal immigrants driving down the pay of jobs and available jobs, and most especially takes your tax dollars and gives them to generations of families on welfare.
As for you, screw you. Do your part. Do without breakfast so illegal immigrants can use all the services and infrastructure your taxes pay for, while they pay none, and so Pakistan can have a gender studies program, and so deadbeats can have free food and Obama phones. So they all eat, but you my hard working, American taxpaying friend can go without.
Just in case your angry about not being able to afford breakfast, you’re only angry because your a racist.
It's a controversial headline, but I fully agree with it for different reasons. There is a wide body of biological research to support the benefits.
The body can heal itself, but it requires fasting to activate those pathways. In short, aside from saving money, you increase your cellular regeneration/lifespan via AMPK pathway activation. Also HGH spikes on a fasted state, so you can put muscle on easier as a natty and drop inches off your waist.
Do your own research though I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice.
That's ridiculous.
I recomend skipping dinner. Much healthier.
I realize Americans eat lunch for dinner for some reason and sweets for breakfast, so if they could rectify that, that would make them a lot healthier overall.
Savory, healthy breakfast + savory hearty lunch.
Yea that would be better except for the fact it's easier just to pour some cereal
@RandomGuy1030
'Easier' almost always equals 'less healthy'.
Maybe there is more complex science of how enjoying your food is healthier, but if it isn't, then the easiest thing is to devour single ingredient whole foods without preparing anything.
When I think about this headline, I think WSJ is right. We need to accelerate growth of disproportionate wealth distribution if favor of the 1%. When we read soon "Maybe you should skip eating at all" it's time for a new class revolution.

Breakfast can be the cheapest meal of day, so if anything skip dinner. I typically eat two meals, breakfast and lunch as most people tend to be most physical during the daylight hours. I eat a small snack for dinner throughout the week and sometimes skip lunch and have an early dinner on the weekend.
The liberal ass-clowns that pushed for Biden instead of the guy who created jobs and created an economy that Obama said we would never see again now wants you to accept the consequences. Gabriel, the author, has a good job so he won’t skip breakfast.
Breakfast today, then it'll be lunch next week, then dinner until your down to a bowl of gruel for supper. All so your employer can pay you look less and less. Don't you just love capitalism?
All so your government can misappropriate your tax dollars.
I hear in jolly ole England all the Muslims your government has been busy…ummm…. importing have no trouble getting assistance, assistance provided by your tax dollars.
Isn’t socialism awesome?
That's a dumb idea. Your body needs energy in the morning... it's been, on average, 12 hours since you ate anything. If you want to save money by skipping a meal, skip lunch and instead, have a small snack in mid-afternoon.
This is the worst possible advice you could give. Skip breakfast or dinner, but not lunch
When I am home, on the schedule I prefer, I stop eating about midnight, and don't eat again until 5 pm the next day. I might eat breakfast, but not until five.

Bad headline. Food that's most expensive right now such as eggs, milk, bread, etc. is what most people eat for breakfast. That's the argument the author makes. Also, if you get free lunch or snacks at work then sure you can save money by skipping breakfast. Just take advantage of the free food at work. If you are overweight, skipping breakfast can save some money. It's more recommended to skip dinner though.
I just want to know why taxes keep increasing as we shovel money to every corner of the globe and have record inflation, and we are competing for illegals for jobs who do not pay taxes and get government assistance and why we have generations of families on welfare all paid for by tax dollars, why are we having to skip breakfast?
Sound like if we weren’t sending like $225 million to Pakistan for GENDER STUDIES, yeah that’s important. Great use of tax dollars there. Also billions to the Ukraine and lots to Turkey if it is causing us to hit the debt ceiling, which they will certainly raise taxes further to fix.
I have a great idea. How about we stop sending money everywhere, stop feeding people who certainly can work, but won’t, and stop dolling our money to illegal foreign nationals.
Then we’d have more $ in our pockets and buying breakfast wouldn’t be an issue.
Never mind me though, just keep right on spending until no meals are on anyones table cause everyone is using all their inflated money which is continually worth less to live on. We know what happens then right?
@Exterminatore Are you attacking my answer or ranting about the state of our country? If you are ranting then I totally agree. Stop sending our money overseas and use it to help our own citizens. Stop giving illegal immigrants benefits or perks for committing crimes. And so on.
Ranting sir. Sorry, had to get that out. Fully agree with you.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Maybe skip lunch or dinner if you want to save money but breakfast is a must have, at least a cheap meal like cereals or oats.
Honestly, I'd rather skip dinner than breakfast... dinner is more expensive overall that would definitely save more money than skipping breakfast.
Some say breakfast is the most important meal of the day & skipping breakfast to save money can actually cost you money in the long run so I agree to disagree with WSJ.
Thanks Mr. Murdoch!
Maybe he'll be skipping a few breakfasts now texts showing that Fox News "talent" knew the election wasn't stolen back in Nov 2020 have come out.
If you're overweight, yes.
Have you ever thought of how large the planet earth is? Why not just grow more food?
They can distribute thousands of times more weapons than food... totally a money problem here.
That’s not how you lose weight. Your body works in the total opposite way. When you skip meals, your body is forced to hold onto calories so you have energy. Your metabolism needs to stay active in order to lose weight. Eating more meals with smaller portions is actually a much more effective way to lose weight.
@Kingofkings1992 misinformation.
Look at insulin, growth hormone, glucagon.
Each time you eat you spike insulin, not to mention its anti testosterone effects, it is what causes nutrient absorption. It causes you to hold on to calories.
When you fast, glucagon and HGH skyrocket, that's when fat burning will occur.
The only time you body will enter a "starvation mode" is either if you are excessively below 10% body fat lean, or you have been eating a low fat high carb diet your entire life, to the point your body adapted to a high carb burning metabolism and holding on to fat.
Which is dumb in the first place as it will cause fat soluble nutrient deficiency and hormonal imbalances.
That's why ketogenic adaptation, whether by diet or supplementing MCTs and ketones, before entering long fasts works so well. You first train your body to switch the main fuel source to lipids, and once it's adapted and you fast, it will view all your stored fat as an abundance of readily accessible energy.
The biggest problem then is if you've been storing toxins in your fat, they will start getting released the faster you burn fat.
People need to save money somehow. I think the better option is to tell these Gen-z to stop buying the latest iPhone when they're "struggling paycheck to paycheck"
No. People should give up booze and dope, though.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Breakfast is literally the most important meal of the day eating breakfast will help you lose weight
skip lunch instead. eat a good breakfast and a moderate dinner small snacks if necessary since eating a snack can help you burn calories.
I usually skip breakfast anyways! That being said, I think its a really short sighted suggestion.
Might as well say "Yes, just go without showers and basic needs"
Sure. Why don't we just skip out on water too? And maybe lunch and dinner. I mean, that's like $600 a month! Money is EVERYTHING.
I would just eat more at dinner so not sure it matters unless you're on a diet.
I skip breakfast basically because i wake up late and im broke
We can take this a big step further and just die e. g. skipping eating altogether or medical bills being unaffordable. it's the most effective option to save money but it won't be useful once you're dead.
Wall Street Journal, newspaper for Corporate Cronyism with occasional asides to other points of view.
That's a really dumb idea. You will still need the same amount of food, you're just pushing it back later in the day, when you need it least.
I am very passionate about my work
No. But ryou should reduce breakfast down to a couple of eggs, a banana, some milk, and cereal. Max that's like $2 of food
To save money, I won't buy your shitty newspaper.
Breakfast is important for you
