Are adults really expected to know in what order the planets are in?

Apparently, anyone who doesn't know that earth is the 3rd planet in order among planets or can't memorize all of the United States Constitution's 27 amendments must be a retard, despite the fact that most of America's education system doesn't teach youths about planet orders and most Americans are too busy and stressed out to remember every single US Constitution amendment in exact order.

Pardon the pun, but this is not rocket science. It is fairly basic information that is taught in schools.

Suffice to say, it is not too much to ask that adults have at least a basic grasp of the most fundamental facts and figures. Nothing too complicated, but if this kind of basic information is not "off the top" of someone's head, than it is suggestive either of a deficient individual or a deficient education system.

Either way, it is not good that society has individuals who lack even the most basic scientific and historical information. From such information, after all, is more complex understanding built.

Even if it's not difficult to memorize, in what way does it benefit people to memorize planet orders? I can understand all adult Americans being expected to know their own constitution but it never made sense to me how not every single adult remembering the order of the planets is such a big deal, unless they're aspiring to be astronauts or actually work in a field pertaining to astrology.

It's not a big deal. That is sort of the point. It is the kind of background trivia that you learn in school and should retain.

Are adults EXPECTED to know the order of the planets? Yes. It is basic common information. In fact - to cite your example - it is less complicated than the Constitution. (I work in politics, by the way.)

Of course, if an adult does not know the order of the planets, most will merely shrug and assume that the person who does not know the planets was skipping school that day. (That was a joke.)

Suffice to say, it is not a matter of great moment if someone does not know the planets of the solar system and their order. However, it IS somewhat surprising.

Yes, most adults grew up when public schools used to actually teach kids useful things like math and science. Everybody learned all the planets in the solar system and can recited them in order.

Today the schools are failing our kids and just teach them critical race theory and pronouns

Because the questions asked in the video are taught or should be taught during k-12, adults should be able to answer most of the questions in the video. That doesn't mean they should memorize the constitution. That would be 40 times more difficult.

I can understand having to remember the constitution of your own country for the sake of preventing government overreach but how does memorizing planet orders benefit someone if they're neither astronauts or working in fields involving the solar system?

I've read the entire constitution and all the amendments a couple times, but I disagree with about half the laws in the Constitution. They seem to have no logical or rational purpose.

I can understand needing to know the constitution of your own country so you prevent yourself from letting the government abuse their power more than they already have, but I really don't get what's so important about memorizing the exact order of planets, like how the hell will it help or benefit me having to know the order of planets if I'm not studying for astrology or similar fields.

It doesn't help anybody except astronomers. We haven't actually made a single Earth-relevant scientific discovery from studying planets, but the Sun and Stars have produced new scientific discoveries relevant to Earth technology. Such as nuclear medicine and Helium.
