Scientists, astronomers, astrophysicist tell us, our planet is equivalent to a grain of sand on 100 miles of beach. where are we in all of that?

For Creationists, and Evolutionists alike, WE are microscopic in the Universe, and although, I do periodically go to church, 'creation' per se, and "God" do not make any sense to me in view of who, what we are in all of this. Our Bible tells us that God Created the earth and the Heavens, but, to me that means that our 'Creator', created a 'limitless, unknowable, 'infinity, an unknowable void,' that 'humans', per se will never be able to see or comprehend, much less ever explore.

If God created all of this, and whomever, whatever is out there in 'infinity' 'how do THEY, whomever THEY are, fit into "Gods Plan", If a GOD created all of that, whomever, whatever they are, they must be subject to God's plan, loving grace, Omnipotence, Omniscience, and his Benevolence, and therefore subject to his 'Judgement' whenever that comes and 'punishment' for those that don't believe in 'GODS" creation and goodness.

These are some of the reasons that I, for one of millions, (maybe) am not a person of "faith"

I want to hear from those who wish to express their views and their view of reality and faith.

I have received one very caustic, sarcastic, and really idiotic response to my, what I THOUGHT would be a thought provoking question. I am always taken aback, and puzzled how someone can run a muck over what was presented as something to merely think about and not go crazy over with insults. 4 if alien life exists, which is probable but not factual, then they are innocent because they were not warned and did not get a chance. if we believe omniscient gid he knows them and that they can't be blamed if not warned. so in my opinion innocent.

It's all a bit hard to process given we are but a microsopic particle in the whole of what we know... and may be more beyond that. And then consider we are made up of such parts that so tiny...

I don't view it as A God, but more of I Am and God is. That to me, is some kind of underlying energy or existence. The way we relate to that greater everything is what every religion tries to attune to using their limited minds. To me the resonance of value is God is love. Love being an emotion which we feel and resonate with. That may not be true for all humans or beings although given animal videos I see, they resonate to it as well in their way... have a dog or cat, or a shark or a lion?

The challenge of it all being... separation... which is not only physical but belief. We are "instances" of life, which may even be ever flowing... e. g. stuff doesn't disappear, it changes form.

All of that to me says science is just discovering religion and religion is discovering the science of it.

If you have no faith, then I think you are missing a whole aspect of being a human and relating to the greater "Is" that "Is". Emotions are real and they are powerful, more rapid than thought. You cannot tune into something using logic, but you can tune in using feeling.

Not all of it makes sense. I'm not sure where "God" came from or started. Maybe it isn't for us to make sense of.

It is clear in science that "stuff" is formed, then blows to bits [supernovas and such], and is re formed. That would supported by what the Bible says... in some ways.

Wish I had read your reply before. A well thought out response. I have studied religion, and explored many, but still find no logical reason for me to have a faith in creation and a creator. I have known those that had a 'deathbed conversion' but I sincerely hope I do not knuckle under and say I believe something, which I have denied all of my life since being a teen.
At a "Youth for Christ" meeting one night as a teenager... a speaker said to us that he could talk 'all night... about god and resurrection but if it did not make sense, we would not accept it. "It has to make sense"... and for me it has never made sense... I thank you for your time and kind thoughts. Thank you.

Thank you. for what it's worth, I don't agree with the YFC persons statement... as some would hear it logically. That was pressure. As Bible said..."words are like swords"... those words created a barrier. Jesus never said that. Accepting Christ/God logically is as difficult as understanding the scientific universe... emotionally.
When I read the Bible logically/left brain, it was an endless struggle of understanding. Blech. When I read it emotionally, it made sense... within the frame of being written long ago in different language and culture of course. Jesus didn't "touch" the woman at the well with logic, but by words that released her from her shame and oppression... he saw through her need. If your emotions are "muted", effort be more valuable exploring your childhood emotional programming/wounds.
I found God reading spirituality for dummies and later on my knees. We're all different... God will pursue you, you just have to be open to experience. I'm not saying finding "religion", that's different.

Have you ever sat in a library and looked at all the books around you, realizing that it'd take you multiple lifetimes to read them all? And that even if you HAD that time, it wouldn't be enough, because more books are continuously being written? The universe is like that.

I suppose it could be a source of sorrow that you'll never get to see and understand it all, but if you take a humbler perspective and don't insist on being master of it, you'll find it a source of comfort that you'll never run out of things to learn and mysteries to solve. Not you, nor your children, nor theirs.

You're confused.

Scientists, astronomers, astrophysicist know very little. In fact, we know of less than 1% of the possible universe, as only 13% of the universe is possibly observable from Earth.

So at best they are giving you an OPINION they hold.

It has little to do with the creationist/evolutionist debate. You're assuming humans are the "most" important thing in the universe, when in fact we could be the most inconvenient.

The rest of your soliloquy is meaningless chatter. You've dedicated little time to faith and theology, but expect to have the understanding of a master, in the matter. It's why you're not any further forward. You are not good enough to be of faith.

Just as an employer will only employ people that can carry forward the business. So faith is only for those who will carry it. Not all are invited, as not all are capable.
