Because smol brains think that putting toxic chemicals and tons of smoke in the air would not impact anything around it. And because they believe this, they think when people tell them this is bad they go nah must be overexaggerating, can't be that bad it's not as if cigs to the worlds.
Exactly. Especially in large enough quantities meant for human comsumption in the billions.
Because the fossil fuel industry has successfully brainwashed gullible people into believing it is false. They put out the propaganda and people eat it right up.
What a lot of people mainly on the far right will say is ‘climate change is real but is not catastrophic or is because of human activity’ which is all false. Dont be fooled
thanks

Well for one I’ve been told that ever since I was a little kid, surprisingly a lot of us are still alive even though we’ve been told that ever since we were kids. To me this is the earth’s way of cleansing itself, man kind is like a cancer. Mother Earth we’ll do what she needs to do to eradicate such things. To think that the earth has been around a lot longer than man kind. I’m sure Mother Earth knows what she’s doing. To think that we human beings who are constantly trying to save every damn thing on earth is crazy, that’s part of evolution. I’m sure there’s a lot of people who believe in climate change, but it’s not their greatest concern right now. I mean if you were homeless, in prison, etc, etc, would you be concerned about the climate killing you? There’s a lot more things that are going to kill people faster like famine, I’m sure those people are more concerned about what’s their immediate threat. Not the sun, climate changes that we’ve been told growing up that would kill us all. I’m sure if a lot of people were well off, had excess money, they’d be more concerned w other topics like climate change, but a majority of people aren’t. That’s usually movie stars, famous people who you see that are pushing that narrative.
True! ... But I don't know if it's a good idea to outright deny it as if it's the wholy grail of a fact lol.
In fact, I'm so cold right now with this California storm that's never ending and it's suppossed to be "Spring Break" lol. I remember many years ago, people would already be traveling to Cancun, Mexico and other warmer climates to REALLY rear in the spring and summer in their baithing suits, bikinis, surfer shorts at the beach , etc! It's my birthday around this time and I'd usually get excited about spring finally coming and arriving fast!
I’m sure we have some thing to do w it but not as much as people think on how we’re hurting this planet. But everyone has their own opinion. Too bad it’s cold right now around your birthday. Hopefully it turns out better for you.
Thanks.
Climate is changing, always has. It may be changing faster than typical... maybe that's due to human behavior. Could be... So lets change behavior.
Stop using disposable stuff. Change the economy to one that is efficient, things are made to last and you repair them... like your grandparents.
Buy things in bulk... change the economy... how stupid is our behavior? Compare our lives to our grandparents... do you see how screwed up we are complaining about global warming?
Run proven technology like Toyota hybrids do... to increase fuel economy, until we have clean burning hydrogen.
Also, stop the wars... because that's causing a lot of waste, destruction of land and carbon sinking trees. I'm not even counting the global industries burning energy to make explosives and shells and tanks. Tanks... a lot!
Running all these lithium and solar, where it generally doesn't pay off in the lifespan of the units, seems questionable.
Tell me there's a big problem when... China is running inexpensive coal, probably without smokestack scrubbers.
Plant more trees... how many did you plant last year... grow them from branches or seeds... just moving a tree around isn't planting one.
Stop using plastic and stop throwing it into the ocean...
Do some of that, we're much better off...
Oil... yea, reduce your trips, buy a more efficient car, etc..
almost forgot:
* Turn off your router and unnecessary electric devices, in fact, turn off your phone... wasting battery = energy. Yea, it's small, but make some sacrifices. that will give you time to plant a garden and maybe...
* convert cities and rooftops into gardens. All that concrete and asphalt in nyc, can't be good for climate or nature. Plant trees and shrubs and greenhouses on every building... heat sinks!
* etc etc etc etc... rethink your world.
What bothers me is a "silver bullet" solution that is BS and maybe makes other things worse. Breathed the air from a lithium fire lately? Building burned down due to a bicycle batter going up in flames? Build a big pile of solar panels and wind mills somewhere?
Nothing is perfect..
people don't deny "climate change". climate changes. nobody questions that. what people disagree with is that fundamentally humans are at fault for a near future massive climate change that will be harmful to all of us.
the issue is that media claims 99% of scientists agree a near future climate change is man made. this however is a straight up lie that stems from misrepresenting facts. 99% of scientists say that climate changes. only 60% of climate scientists claim humans even have "any" influence in it. and that doesn't even say how much influence humans have.
additionally the media hides positive facts about the recent change in climate. for example did you ever hear someone talk about the fact that the planet got 15% more green (as in plant coverage) within the last 20 years?
yes climate changes, "maybe" humans have "sume" influence on it. but the only reason this is even relevant is the crazy totalitarian policies around ecology topics. nature has become a political weapon. no politician gives a rats ass about nature. that's what it is. every nations poltical system is trying to force rules on their people that cost money with a promise of "improving climate", when none of these politicians can put a number on the improvement that their demands will bring. like how much cooler will it make the planet if we reach or co2 goals? ask them. they don't know. they are just using dumb as fuck moral arguments with no scientific backround.
co2 is not a problem for the climate. in fact plants love co2. the more co2, the more plants will grow. earth has a self regulating climate system and we understand far too little of it to be competent enough to try to mess with it.
It's not Co2 that is the problem, it's o3. My classroom textbook said that Carbon Monoxide and Methane is bad for the environment, too much of it I mean. Co2 is healthy, I agree.
oh yeah. o3 is a big issue. that's why we almost had a huge climate crysis that could litterally have wiped us out, which we avoided in the last second when we just straight up banned CFCs litterally over night in 1994. like had we not stopped CFC use, we would have had a very bad climate desaster cause we'd litterally not have had an ozone layer anymore. tho methane, co2 and co1 aren't so much of an isue for the ozone layer. in fact the ozone layer is still recovering from the cfc damage as we speak. so it's still getting better currently, not worse.
but the current "global warming" debate has nothing to do with that. i mean if you actually look back in the history of the global climate, then what we have now is not really scary or shocking. yes, if you look at a graph that shows the last 2000 years, it looks scary. and that's what they use to fear monger us. but if you look at the last 500.000 years, rapid climate changes like the one we're experiencing currently aren't unprecidented at all. it's all a question of perspective.
i personally think there's 2 reasons we're not making a dramatic over night changes like in 1994 with CFCs is:
1: CO2 emissions are far harder to prevent than CFC emissions. and
2: the scientific evidence for the apocalypse scenarios these global warming people are talking about is far more questionable.
That's a good question. I think it is because there is so much disinformation being spread by sources many people trust based on what is a sort of tribal association to the "right wing".
Many developed countries have this sort of binary system of government where there are two main parties which only ever win. Whatever one does, the other has to vehemently oppose in order to create doubt in the minds of voters they want. It is nothing but a power game.
Unfortunately, humans are all bound by the money system. There are so many complications of it which just about makes saving ourselves from climate disaster impossible. It will happen. Mass extinction, acidification of all water, global warming, sea level rise. Already happening. And yes to the deniers, it has happened before and will again regardless of human influence, but the biggest driving force of the current changes are conclusively anthropogenic. That is just a fact. This is happening because of human pollution.
Perhaps because the case is built without open debate upon a mountain of half truths and lies.
Their own data shows the effect of climate change to be minor, and probably desirable on net. While their demands to supposedly stop such change are disastrous economically and politically as well as being myoptic.
Yet nobody is allowed to openly even question the political orthodoxy of the per-determine conclusion they are somehow right. If you do you get censored, or marginalized or worse still professionally punished.
The people pushing this agenda are fanatical extremest.
Lets start with a very basic fact:
A: The Earth is currently in the middle of an ICE AGE. This is an unusual and undesirable condition of permanent ice on the earths poles creating climatic instability.
Earth's normal climate for 85%+ of its history is Ice free and tropical.
Presently we live in a relatively brief intergalactic, If we do nothing at all, the ice will return and crush everything above the 49th parallel.
Why are we even interested in standing in the way of inhibiting the return of the Ice?
B: The measures being proposed would have little to no effect on the changing of the climate even if we did want to stop said change while being economically devastating.
How on earth are we suppose to trade the freedom and financial capability to deal with a changing climate for almost nothing?
What people do is challenge your belief system with debate. Your intolerance to criticism and zealotry for your religion is your problem. It's the same way people like you acted when it came to wearing masks for a 0.125 micron virus and taking experimental vaccines with known serious side effects all while signing wavers to forfeit your rights. You wished death on people who didn't obey totalitarian directives. You screamed trust the science without even knowing the science. Well at least real science. I'm sure you were more likely schooled in political science... Propaganda from movie stars is more important to you than what actual scientist state. For example with covid, actual scientists told you masks wouldn't do anything, the experimental vaccines were dangerous, but did acknowledge that there seem to be a virus circulating. Scientists argued that it would do some damage but it wasn't going to kill the world. Millions would likely die, but it wasn't as serious as it was being made out to be. Scientists saw the flaws in the data as time passed. The math didn't work, but rather than adjusting expectations and following what the science was telling you, you resorted to political science strategies to manipulate a population for control. The same goes for climate change. People see what is happening. They think it has negative impacts on portions of the environment, but they don't exaggerate the problem to a status of religious dogma like you do. They entertain multiple possibility for why it may be happening. They also are able to step outside of the box and think up solutions to specific problems by utilizing the scientific method and by following engineering processes to improve the situation. So when you say we all need to stop using fossil fuels or something ridiculous like that which would lead to the death of half the world's population and ignore something very simple like farming cyanobacteria in the ocean you just sound fucking crazy.
Water makes up roughly 3/4th of the Earth's surface. The ocean is a huge chemical buffer for carbon dioxide. While it acidifies the ocean temporarily, biology has a role in cycling nutrients and gases in the larger system. To just focus on the hydrodynamics of the atmosphere while completely ignoring biological and solar activity is extremely short sighted... Earth is a complex system...

Thing is that you are promoting a objectively equally rational and well founded conspiracy theory as flat earthers.
I don't understand basic science? Hmmm?
Tell me what is the theoretical basis for why man made global warming is a thing?
Or are you trying to disprove a theory you don't even know and much less understand?
Your religious zealotry and complete absence of reasoning ability is why no one listens to you communist morons. Even when facts are pointed out to you and repeated, you don't adapt and correct your thinking to new evidence. You just continue on with the narrative and your Mao's Cultural Revolution Steps...
4. Quasi-religious indoctrination of urban youth “Red Guards”

11. Silence dissident voices.
12. Mob tactics of fear.
Attack, attack, attack, that's all you do! Plus, you just assumed SO MUCH about me that isn't even true! What the hell is your problem? ! Lol. You don't know me and what I truly believe in! So fuck off!
By the way, you didn't answer why they were trying to get KIDS to believe in Global Climate change, like kids could ever have the power to do something about that. Why influence or scare kids? ! Makes no sense!
You're trying to impress the wrong person because I am NOT impressed with your immaturity. You think you are smarter than me or anyone else here. I bet you don't even make six figures and live in your mom's basement! You really have NO right to judge or assume those things about me! What else have you got on me? ! Exactly you don't have much to go on except what you wish to be right!
@TenderFantasy You asked why there are people who don’t believe in global warming. He answers your question. So quit ATTACKING HIM.
@TenderFantasy You just proved my point. 11. Silence dissident voices.
12. Mob tactics of fear. lol So predictable.
@Agagagagaga I wasn't attacking him, he was the one who INSULTED my question and was being a douchebag about it! In my last question, I was just asking about if anyone remembered the show Captain Planet and the Planetteers and then he went on to say that he was gay and that Climate Change was bullshit and calling ME dumb! Mind your own business loser!
@TenderFantasy “Why are there people that deny Climate Change?”
Yeah. Real honest effort you made there to field opinions.
I don't deny climate change. I just deny that humans are primarily responsible for it. Climate change is a natural thing. It occurred before humanity, it occurs during humanity, and it will occur after humanity.
For example, the Earth's temperatures are always fluctuating. The ice age occurred tens of thousands of years ago. That was natural. Then temperatures began to naturally rise.
Roughly 1,000 years during during the Medieval warm, temperatures rose. All natural. https://www.britannica.com/science/medieval-warm-period
In the nineteenth century, there was a little ice age. Again, nothing weird.
https://www.kilkennyweather.com/index.php/1700-to-1850-the-little-ice-age
Guess what happened next? Temperatures rose! That is our present day.
The flood massive flood that the Bible discusses has been confirmed through archeology. Nothing unique about massive rains and floods.
Heck, at one point in history, all the continents were together! Something natural caused them to break apart.
I don't think there are many people who deny climate change, although there are some. The bigger controversy is about whether it's man-made or not.
You gotta admit that you are just taking someone's word for it. Science is far from having a perfect record. On top of that, the reporting of science is horrible. Most of the people reporting it have no clue what it means. Most reporting of science in the news is downright irresponsible.
Then there are the people themselves, who say the stupidest things. That goes for both sides. I see it here on GaG all the time. People are REALLY bad at understanding surveys and studies. They completely misinterpret things and jump to conclusions that they shouldn't.
Thanks, that was helpful. Although before reliable science, you gotta admit we had Sun gods and fertility gods, rain gods, etc. At least through science, we were able to discover where babies came from lol.
or how the weather worked.
I remember when I moved to a place with severe thunder and lightning. I'd walk outside just to watch the sky light up. I could totally imagine living a few thousand years ago and having no idea what was happening. I could easily imagine thinking it was some kind of god - maybe the gods were fighting and throwing lightning bolts at each other. Whatever it was, it was a power far greater than humans.
In a way that WAS science. It was observing the world and trying to figure out what it is. That's the basis of science. Doesn't it make sense that the air is "nothing"? That's what we observe, so it's a reasonable conclusion to make.
Have you ever watched that German woman talk about science? I think she's a physicist. She actually has a video where she explains why believing the Earth is flat is not stupid - wrong, but not stupid.
Anyway, I'm late to be somewhere.
>You gotta admit that you are just taking someone's word for it<
The scientist (just like Doctors) usually can earn their "trust" with their words if you know what I mean. I mean, who would you rather listen to, in terms of Climate stuff, a scientist, or some bus driver that lived next door to you? ! Who would you rather trust in terms of medical knowledge and information? ! Someone who worked at McDonalds or someone who went to Medical School for ten years and is an actual DOCTOR? ! Just common sense really.
Not sure, I think they try to argue we've always been in either a cold phase (glaciation) or warm phase (age of the dinosaurs) and everything is normal and we are on the shoulder of a a warm phase period.
However, I think it is a bit more than that, considering we keep spewing so much extraneous greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, it is likely forcing us forward into that global warming phase, sooner.
The human race could very well be the next dinosaur species and we are helping it to evolve faster.
Because the people harping on about it are 1. endlessly promulgating a model that's been disproven more often than Wakefield, and 2. are advocating "solutions" that would only make the problem worse.
I'm in Florida right now, and despite it being WAY later than 2000, we're not even under ten INCHES of water, let alone feet. Does that mean anthropomorphic climate change isn't real? Of course not- just that the model is incorrect. But the people pushing it have basically guaranteed that no one's ever going to take them seriously- just like that guy who predicted that the world was going to end in 1989. Er, 1991. No, 1992. Wait, no...
1. The Mayan calendar said 2012 but what do people from ancient times really know
2. Why try to scare people about it then? ! What's the point? !
3. I don't think those solutions would exactly make the problem worse. Maybe find ways to have hydrogen work like gas, or find a way to safely dispose of/recycle the chargeable car batteries of the Tesla (and other hybrid, EV vehicles), after awhile. Just because you say they don't work, doesn't mean it will not be perfected or improved upon at a later date. There's countless examples of that happening from the car, to home appliances, etc.
Um, the Mayan calendar didn't "say" anything about 2012, that was simply when it ran out of numbers. There's no evidence the Mayans believed anything in particular about what that meant, especially in light of the fact that it didn't cyclically track time like every other calendar, it simply counted up. What it was counting up FROM is the question- and we'll probably never know.
Why scare people about it? To get attention, and to manipulate people. Why else?
If the plausible theories of anthropogenic climate change are a yardstick, then global warming is ten inches, the greenhouse effect four, and carbon dioxide is a half inch- it's a MINOR greenhouse gas. Methane's more serious- especially if the clathrate theory is true- but it's NOTHING on sulfur hexafloride, which is the most powerful greenhouse gas known to man. Any guesses as to what the biggest source of emissions of it is? The manufacture of solar cells. Every single cell- not panel, CELL- created releases a tiny amount. It's minuscule, but building enough panels to meet even a reasonable FRACTION of our power needs would dwarf the GHG power of COAL, let alone oil.
Want to get off fossil fuels? You have three options: 1. nuclear. 2. geothermal. 3. failure.
A big reason for people to deny climate change is because every projection of a climate apocalypse has failed to occur. First, we were suppose to have an ice age, because all the "experts" were telling us it was gonna happen. Then it was called "global warming" and we were all supposed to die in a massive heat wave, which never happened. Now they just call it climate change and attribute any bad weather event to it, regardless of whether it's caused by warmer or cooler temperatures.
Beyond this most of the people lecturing the common man are wealthy, flying around on private jets; so, many don't think they're being genuine.
Lastly, when certain politicians/ activists claim that the ONLY way to fight "climate change" is to do EVERYTHING they would want regardless if there was a crisis or not it seems a bit fishy. Ex: AOC pushing socialism and free migration as ways to combat climate change...
Lol what
@ChefPapiChulo Leave it to the shemale to not know how to read...
Because Paris climate agreement (makes hundreds of billions of dollars by federal government contracts world wide yearly, yet no one seems to know what the money is funding, and these so called politicians whom are for this program are supposed to be making 5-6 figures a year by government standards but are somehow worth 9 figures… so clearly there’s something greedy going on. What’s interesting is some of these politicians that are for this program also burn wooden effigies to a 30 foot Moloch the owl statue at bohemian grove every summer… the same place where the Manhattan project was planned. So yes climate change and it’s programs to stop it are sketchy.
Well, but why are the temparatures (average ones) getting more extreme one way or another? Just something I've noticed. That CAN'T be due to political drama, etc.
No such thing as climate change.
Do you know what the climate is? 🤡
What Excatly IS climate change? 🤡
How much overall do you personally know about weather or climate? 🤡
Do you personally have a degree in meteorology or weather or climate? 🤡
Thats what I thought. And I’m a conspiracy theorist. Things are changing. A pole shift is taking place. Nothing to do with climate and weather. It’s the age of Aquarius. It has nothing to do with humans using little cars wit gasoline.
The only thing gasoline does is age the humans faster. That’s it. The chemtrails and gasoline is to make us live shorter.
Most of my knowledge came from this book: www.amazon.com/.../ref=sr_1_1 from an Earth Science class I took a while back.
Don't make fun of me. There's no need. This info/stuff wasn't coming from me, but REAL experts, professors, scientists that SPECIALIZE and STUDY this (it's their LIVELYHOOD/DAYJOB/ spending up to 8 and 13+ hours a day studying and researching the subject!).
... How can people say it's money incentivized when, I didn't really pay much to attend that class because of financial aid! I spent maybe $200 dollars including tuition and that book. That's all!
Plus, yeah, I am colder these days, maybe because of the non-stop California rainstorms, but still, I would like to know where the Climate Deniers are getting THEIR info from!
It's like they are saying they are BETTER than scientists and researchers that have STUDIED the world/the planet for many decades more than the average person! How arrogant of them in my opinion!
Some scientist said that it could help if we help India to burn more coal. But they also said they don’t know the long term effects of this either.
People could run their helicopters, airplanes, vehicles, motorbikes, and factories with electric energy. Electricity. Or sun panels. Or even run them on water Hydroelectricity Hydroenergy
. But the guy that discovered how to run on water was eliminated 💀. By either gas companies or these very leaders we have 🤡.
So there’s no winning. We can’t do anything. We lost. Either way, those chemtrails and weather mod planes, and gasoline is to make us live shorter. They want to cut our days and keep us paying for meds. 🤡🤡
I can’t only hope that our maker our Creator , finds all these criminals 🤡🤡
The climate is always changing. Much of the USA was under a mile of ice 20,000 years ago and will be in another 40,000. What I think you mean is man caused "global warming". There is no scientific evidence that it exists at all. There are only mathematical models.
Present CO2 levels are about 400PPM, just of the line of the survival of plant life. If it was at 800PPM worldwide hunger would end and the Sahara and Kalahari deserts would begin greening. CO2 is not "poison". It is plant food.
Man made climate change is a belief system, a religion, where its "believers" believe in nothing. What you have heard is only an unproven hypothesis with corrupt supporters. I don't expect to even try to convince you. You can believe what you want to believe. But if warmers attempt to take away my rights, money and livelihood, they will discover what rights are most important.
Our planet is 4 billion years old and we have been modern scientific records for a few hundred years and you think that scientists can predict the future on those few hundred years of records. On the first Earth Day, the major prediction was an ice age in 30 years. Nothing that we can do in the United States is going to stop India and China from burning coal to make electricity for the next 100 years. Every day, 3 billion people light a fire to cook their food and heat their homes. There are countries that have their entire economy based on selling oil. Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Iran, Iraq, Russia and others. They will not stop pumping and selling oil just because the US wants it. The world is a very complicated place. If I were you I would be worried about nuclear war starting in Europe. That can definitely happen.
I see. Interesting.
The planet has changed drastically over its existence. The earth today is not how it was thousands of years ago, maps can prove that, and it's not in a bad way, climate change isn't the end of the world, it's just the earth changing form as it has always done. Were there was water thousands of years ago now there might be nothing, and were there was nothing now there might be water, is just natural change.
Don't fall for the climate change end of the world propaganda, yeah, I agree we should be wiser in the sense of being better consumers in certain aspects, but the world is not ending, don't worry. Better search what kind of people benefit from all the climate change end of the world ideas, I'll give you one clue: They have a lot of money and sell you solutions after giving you fears and even problems.
Because it was labelled a "Liberal" agenda item, people who see themselves as Conservative often joke about it or say its overstated by left wing nutters.
Unfortunately it's been evident for a long time now and signs are getting worst. Some things transcend right/left US politics.
I honestly don't think people deny it anymore. It's honestly even worse.
1. They don't care about the world after they die. Make the best of it till I die and leave the world to rot.
2. Religious folk thinking it's rapture and the second coming will take them to heaven. This is all apart of the process of Going to heaven and let the world rot.
I have not see anyone who denies it, the question is the cause, is it man made or naturally occuring or somewhere in between?
I do know people that deny it is man made because scientists are not interested in trying to deterimine how much is man made vs. naturally occuring.
It is probably somewhere in between, some made by humans some naturally occuring but until there is a definite answer to exactly how much is one each side with proof.
No one denies climate change. Only its origins
Excuse me for not believing a bunch of "scientists" who are all proven political activists who get all their funding from left wing politicians looking to scare people into voting for them
No 💩, Climate changes since the Beginning, God.
But yet your Great…Great…Great into Infinity Grandparents were.
You think it is different now because you are in the world 🌎 🌍. Think 🧐 on this: “For what has been is what will be (as in continuous and circular) and what has been done is what will be done. And there is nothing new under the sun.
According to climate alarmists, the USA's coastal cities have been flooded and washed away and all the people killed multiple times. Those bs lies have been going around since the late 1960s and they are even cover articles from Time magazine on it since then. All bs lies just like the y2k lies that many ignorant people believe.
Look at the pic. It is strongly implying warming temperatures are melting ice, marooning polar bears and very soon there will be no more polar bears. You are meant to think that. Whereas there are more polar bears now then in the recent past.
If there was 100% icecap that there would be no phytoplankton to support the food chain polar bears depend on. The poor little buggars would starve to death.
I've come to the quite sensible conclusion everybody on both sides are bullshitters.
Lmao what
Mainly fossil fuel companies are to blame for spreading false science. Most of the world's carbon footprint is produced by a small minority of fossil fuel companies. It's not the people who are to blame for not recycling or the "meat eaters" it's the big oil companies.
Wait, not sure I'm getting you. Why would fossil fuel companies throw themselves under the bus like that and put themselves out of business? !
they're not, fossil fuel companies are the ones spreading fake science about how climate change isn't real. It's also fossil fuel companies who are spreading the false idea that recycling will help save the environment when the truth is that recycling won't do much at all. the only way to stop climate change is with renewable energy like solar and wind
Makes sense, thanks.
But please keep in mind that it's human people's consumption that are demanding the fossil fuel companies resources, and also the fossil fuel companies are the ones "keeping society alive" if that makes any sense. Without elecricity or heat, some hospitals and obviously a lot of homes would go dark. So in a sense, it IS also human being's own fault for the rise in o3 in the air, etc.
Because of decades of propaganda by the fossil fuel companies and their allies in government. Their estimates of the effects of their inductry were at least as accurate and bad as any other scientific source, they just acted like the tobacco companies had before them, with just as little regard for human lies and suffering.
I have never met anyone who denies climate change exists, only its cause. And the reason they dispute it’s cause is that the human element of carbon emissions, specifically, is not all that apparent.
sea rise is another one. The data isn’t as conclusive as one would hope. There are other forms of damage that humans are so much more provably doing.
The big red flag for me is that all the people peddling this BS are all set to make millions investing in electric cars, solar panels and windmills. These technologies are not commercially viable yet and may never be yet the left continues to try and ram it down our throats. When Al Gore leaves a brand new Tesla with a big red ribbon tied around it in my driveway I will think about driving an electric car but until then just leave me the #3!! alone.
The simple answer is - because there are a lot of very stupid people. They don't really "think" about it, but rather, they disbelieve that human actions on the planet can have a large scale affect on the overall environment. They're just plain stupid.
I was skeptical years ago as I just don’t trust the US government, my government to be truthful since about 2010. They have been lying and politicizing everything. They corrupted the media and even scientists. So, many people don’t trust what they have to say. Plus there are scientists who disagree along with some politicians and media. I believe in climate change but I clearly see why they do not.
Because these people don't know how the climate works and pretend that it's some conspiracy. People just love drama. Everything has to be a conspiracy. These people probably think you can't collapse a fisheries economy by overfishing an area or you can't exhaust a forest by cutting down too many trees. People can fuck with the environment if given enough time. Climate is no different.
I don't deny but some respected scientists do which has led to me becoming somewhat skeptical though far from a denier ultimately when people with far more knowledge on the subject than me can't agree why do you expect me to take somebody's word for it?
Because climate change is not a new issue at one point this was something the higher up hid from the general population because it’s a terrifying thing to know
but there’s much worse things than climate change earth has been hit with multiple asteroids since 2010 and any day we could get a big one
I don't deny it, but I do definitely think we as individuals can't do shit about it. The companies need to change, globally. That's the only way to solve the problem. We need global laws. Not just about climate, also about copyright, scamming and so much more.
I don't think it's as black and white as people saying climate change is real and others saying it's not. I think the question is how much of an impact are humans actually having on climate change compared with how the climate would change naturally.
Because people are idiots. Nothing new there.
I don't think anyone denies that its happening. We disagree about the cause, though, and whether us meddling in it will end up helping or hurting the situation in the long run.
There are things that don't add up about the supposed settled science of climate change, and attempting to "fix" a complex system we don't fully understand could have consequences far more catastrophic than leaving it alone.
The same reason there are flat earthers, anti-vaxxers and Christians.
Some people just want to stand on sinking ships and fight the water to appear as "hero's," in their minds.
Because acknowledging it means that they bare some of the responsibility. And some people don’t want to take responsibility for anything. They just want to complain.
@Kelly6 not going to talk to me privately anymore? 😭😭😭
Climate change has been happening for thousands of years it's nothing new. No one can deny there is climate change we just have to adapt as the human race has done for thousands of years. Just like they did during and after the ice age.
Because you can't stop the sun from being angry by taxing everyone to death, and giving the proceeds to an unelected global cabal of lying, murderous scammers.
For a lot of people, their opinion is political and not scientific. When you ask a climate denier what they believe the flaws in the science are, you generally get a blank stare.
because the main "pushers" of this, are still flying around in private jets, often using our tax payer money to do so. They're still riding around in gas guzzling, armored vehicles. Sure, the climate changes. It always has. But blaming it on humans, has made these people rich.
People don't deny climate change. They correctly deny that it is the result of human activity.
Can be simple confirmation bias. Either side is going to have their "evidence" for or against it. Plain and simple.
I don't think people deny climate change or the COVID-19 virus. What they deny is the government's insane response to both of those.
The climate envoy flew around in private jets while lecturing you.
You'll find the same people abortion, gun control, black rights, etc. They're simply towing the party line.
wording can be very sneaky. No one denies that the climate changes.
but the “climate change” movement is full of shit and everyone with a skeptical mind knows it
But why have a skeptical or cynical mind when it's the actual experts saying things? Not like the average Joe next door is better at studying and researching climate history, it's effects on the environment, etc. than those who actually WENT to school/college and made it their life's "mission" to study it/live it! Mr. Joe Shmoe certainly doesn't have the tools nor does he have the funding, if you can say that, to have better knowledge or make better educated guesses than those environmental experts! Otherwise, why even bother.. or even have the major/courses to do the research, if any old bloke can do it just as good!
Because I don’t trust any authority regardless of their credentials. My great uncle was one of the most famous scientists in North America and he thought global warming was a bunch of BS. As for why it’s so easy not to trust the apg narrative, it’s mainly because of how slimy and dishonest the movements is. We should all be underwater by now here on the coast
Because the fossil fuels industry puts out a lot of propaganda, people are stupid and will believe anything and some religions see it as a treat that doesn't fit their idea of Gods plan or whatever
Because everything those nuts have said never happened.
1) we would all be dead by now
2) Florida would be under water
3) Al Gore
4) it is a scam to just steal more people's money through taxes
The US educational system is no longer very good in hard sciences. People don't believe it because if they understood it, it wouldn't be a matter of believing any more than believing that 1+1=2.
That and a gradual descent into idiocracy.
Oil companies paid a massive amount of money to disguise their agenda as entertainment.
Maybe they haven’t seen enough evidence to convince them
Hmm maybe. Or maybe they are just closing their eyes and their mind to it conveniently.
Well I do believe in climate change
When they deny it, they don't need to change any of their habits.
Because its not the climate that's changing, it's people, that are CHANGING the climate!! 💯😡😔💔
Because of the simple fact that it doesn't exist!!
Why are there so many dummies that believe in it?
Climate change has always been real.
Man-made climate change is a complete lie.
We have ZERO power to sway natural climate change.
The rich liars who push this bs are just trying to make more money off suckers who believe it.
Not sure how that works as Teslas and other battery operated "cleaner" EVs are quite expensive. So it's not like your average Joe is going to buy it first thing tomorrow morning! But yeah, I do see, in my affluent city, the show offs who do drive them lol. Same thing with Solar Panels on the roof of people's houses. Saves energy yes, but expensive to maintain and install I bet. Wind turbines are great, but I don't know if avarage home owners are going to go for that since they look unsightly (i was told).
I don't think they've made battery powered Maseratis or Lamborghinis yet, have they? !
Most believe it's a natural cycle that won't be fixed by sorting plastics into bins to fill landfills
climate is always changing- that's how we get seasons.
Yeah, but why are the seasons getting more extreme?
cyclical variance.
Probably because mass media keeps saying it's going to happen and it never does. It's a scare tactic.
We don’t deny it we just say there’s nothing you can do about it and you’re a fool if you think you can
Well, we are able to create/invent cars and planes, we were able to go to the moon/space! We were able to understand weather patterns, where babies came from, how cancer develops, HIV and other viruses, etc. and yet we aren't able to make an IMPACT on the weather? ! Hmm...
Nope. It cannot be slowed stopped or reversed. The earth has had climate change before we were ever here. There will be species extinctions just like in the past but there will also be new evolutions just like in the past. Better to spend money for preparation rather than futile attempts at preventing
Interesting. But DOESN'T/ISN'T Climate Change usually a VERY slow process? ! I don't know if it should be THIS fast. The last time we had an Ice age was Eons ago, or whatever. The Dinosaurs also became extinct millions of years ago, NOT thousands of years ago, or just a few centuries!
Sorry but I am supposed to believe all that you say? Lol "The speed means nothing"? It takes time to make a baby or grow one in a mother's womb. It takes TIME to cultivate fruits and vegatables from plants. They (farmers and gardeners) don't have a harvesting season for nothing. Please cut the bs! Things take time is what I am saying. Especially climate change!
Obviously not anymore. It’s not gonna stop. The ice used to extend as far as S Texas. It’s been retreating ever since. It left a shallow inland sea that eventually dried up and is today the Great Plains. It retreated further and carved the Great Lakes. It’s still retreating and won’t stop no matter what you do. As I recall didn’t nut job Al Gore tell us we were going to be in a major ice age and everything would be frozen back in the 80’s? Lol!
I lived in the Philippines in the 80's and I was too young to notice bad (or extreme) weather.
If there are people who believe the earth is flat, there must be people who believe there is no climate change.
