Religion has very little to do with being Republican. Sure, there is a lot of overlap, but that's coincidence.

Personally I know a large number of Republicans and/or conservatives who are atheists.

Aside from that, if you want to find a candidate who has nothing wrong with them, they don't exist. There has never been a candidate that I completely agreed with, and there has never been one I completely disagreed with.

As for Trump, he's always been an asshole, and a cheater. That was true when he was a Democrat, a Republican, an Independent, and a Reform Party (whatever they are called).
