This is the moment a male coach claims to be a woman and smashes the female bench press record at a powerlifting competition in Canada.

Bearded Avi Silverberg is shown calmly approaching the bench in men's clothing as part of a protest against gender self-identification policies in sport.

Silverberg then unofficially breaks the female bench press record for the 84+ kilograms women's category, which was a 270lbs press - officially set by a trans lifter.

The move, which took place Saturday at the Heroes Classic tournament in Lethbridge, Alberta, was apparently designed to protest rules outlined by the Canadian Powerlifting Union.

Silverberg has yet to comment on his decision to enter the contest and subsequent victory.

Full stop, end of story, end of discussion, if you're trans, specifically an MTF trans person, you have no business in women's sports. When you compete as a biological male in the female sports, you're literally stealing records, and scholarships from them. I have ZERO respect for that.

This is where they would need to either give MTF it’s own division or require MTF persons to compete in the male division.


He proved his point well.


And the same thing has happened in MMA.


MTF fighters always dominate in the fighting ring when they are fighting female-born fighters.


There’s a reason why Olympic events has separate events for men and women.


Men just biologically have a higher genetic potential when it comes to physical strength.


Sure, a female professional athlete can outcompete an average male.


But if you have two professional athletes, a born female contender vs a born male contender, the male contender will always have an unfair advantage.


If we do the opposite, I’m sure a FTM contender will have difficulty winning the bodybuilding Mr. Olympia title when they’re competing with men like Ronnie Coleman.
