1 yI’d probably argue it wouldn’t work out overall. But I think it’s important to realize how small of an issue this is, in numbers. There are very few trans people to begin with, at least in my experience, and I frequent an area that would be about trans-friendly as anywhere but have met maybe like four. And all of them were adults who, if they had transitioned, had done so as adults, past the age of probable athletic participation, and none of them were athletes to begin with.
So I think it’s not even a frequent issue. There’s that one swimmer people always point to, but the very fact that it’s always that same swimmer suggests that maybe there aren’t any/many other cases. Case in point, the Olympics are coming up…has anyone heard anything about trans-women competing, or any complaining from trans-women that they weren’t allowed to be considered for a spot, from America or anywhere else?
To be honest, I feel like people who don’t like trans-women in sports just don’t like trans people, and this is their safe, “but what about the children?” spin they can put on it so as not to be exposed as intolerant ghouls. Like it’s the IMMEDIATE issue people jump to, which is, again, a totally valid issue to discuss, but I feel like with some people it’s a Top 10, maybe even Top 5 social issue that they’re fired up about. A lot of the time it’s men who have no daughters in sports and no direct personal interest who probably make jokes about the WNBA, but out of left field they just became stewards of the integrity of women’s athletics🙄😂
So I think it’s REAL important that we acknowledge that, and recognize bad faith arguments and motivations when they’re presented to us.
All that said…. pending an honest case study, I’d predict trans women would generally have too much of an advantage to be broadly accepted into women’s sports.
If the people most up in arms about this are right, my eyes are lying to me and there are TONS of trans-women athletes out there, in which case, a separate division would be easily created.
Otherwise…some concessions may need to be made by trans-women, and it may require them to still compete with biological men. This should be done respectfully, if so. Whatever decision is arrived at should be arrived at with equal concern and respect for all involved, not with an exclusionary attitude, that’s really all I care about.10 Reply

But I think trans-women should be barred from competing against women. They aren't women. They are cheaters. They have an unfair advantage because of their size, bone structure and inherent ability to build muscle. Corrupted medical "experts" who say otherwise are full of shit.
Trans"women" can be trans and continue competing against men. Or let them cry about not being treated as women. I don't care about their feelings. Some of them are already mentally ill and unstable, and some are just plain dishonest.
They steal scholarships, trophies, and potential sponsorships and income from women. I side with real women.26 Reply- 1 y

Anyone in confusion or for those few whose genes are skewed, have a third category, separate from the other two.

1 yTransgender athletes don’t bother me. I know it is crazy, I don’t care about someone’s gender identity, I don’t care about someone’s pronouns, I don’t care if their hair is dyed or they crossdress or speak a language other than good ole ‘Merican English 💪🏻….
Sports are an important part of the athlete’s spirit, so is their identity and how they present themselves. It isn’t politics based or whatever, they showed their true feelings on the inside and had the courage & bravery to show it on the outside not giving a f*ck what others think which I find interesting.
Maybe there should be a league for Transgender athletes, maybe there should be a mixed league for women, men, and transgender athletes. Let us have those healthy discussions.
DO NOT make this about “woke” or “DEI” or whatever dog whistles you throw because these are real people with real feelings, I’m sure they would love nothing more than not be utilized by the Right or Left for political agenda/gain. Calm down, drink some water, and log off if this all upsets you.
Again. I would like to say it is a good healthy discussion to talk about whether there is a compromise like a league, mixed league, and whatever. I don’t aim to offend anyone or aim to take control of the conversation.

Anonymous(18-24)1 yI support trans people's right to transition and receive medical care, but I do not think it makes sense for trans women to compete in women's sports. I've had my trans friends argue that studies have shown, after a certain amount of years in hormones, their strength and athleticism is equivalent to a born woman's. Well, I've seen other studies that state the exact opposite. If scientists can actually come to a consensus that the competition is equal, than I'll change my stance and say that trans women should not be kept out of women's sports. But as it is now? They should either compete with the men, compete in their own competition, or not be allowed in competitions at all. I understand why it would feel unfair to trans women, but the alternative is not fair to cis women either.
As for trans men, I have not seen any discourse about trans men in sports like I've seen about trans women in sports. I'm sure it's still an issue, but I don't know enough about the data to speak on it.

1 yI think it's wrong... Just look at that Lia Thompson: Failed men's swimming competitor, but now tops the female swimming competitions?
Transgender beauty pageants winning against biological women is wrong in my opinion too.
What about that Trans fighter (Fallon Fox) who nearly killed a biological fighter in the ring and has broken 2 skulls so far already.
If Trans Athletes want to compete against their biological counterparts It'll have to be done in new, mixed competitions; do not force biological contestant to compete with Transgender ones because serious accidents have, and will again, happen... Besides that, Transgender women will always have a biological advantage over biological women because they were born, and thus first developed, as a man.10 Reply- 749 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.
1 yHere's my take: On the professional level, it should be what the LPGA does: you're welcome to compete if you were born a female. That means you have a female reproductive system that would be functional unless there are medical issues. For other levels, I think you have to be on a full dose of hormones for at least 2 years to be eligible to compete, and I'm not sure it shouldn't be three years. I'm not a conservative by ANY stretch, but I don't want to see swinging dicks in girls locker rooms. All you right wingers who want to come at me for thinking ALL "liberals" are ok with that, just fuck off. :)

1 yI’m of the opinion we need to abolish gender segregation in all athletic events. We really don’t need to push this message of “oh, it’ll be unfair, they need a chance to shine on their own!” So that justifies the continued practice of “separate but equal” segregation? It’s stupid in my opinion

u 1 yit's unfair... and it can even be dangerous with competition that involves physical contact like boxing

30 ReplyNo. These are failed male athletes who have a strong need for attention and use wins in women's sports to get that attention. Stolen medals and glory. It will later be reversed and wins will be updated years later… this is already happening but the glory is stolen by that point.
They also should have never allowed the male athlete to compete in the Olympics with a blade (fake metal spring like artificial foot). That was wrong too and he later went in to murder his wife… nutjob.
20 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I support it. I don't care if everyone else disagrees. Those people have faced enough segregation as is.
20 Reply542 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Transgender athletes is totally NOT fair.
It is totally cheating, if they want to do this then they should create a mix gender sports or team which will have men women and transgender. That will be fair

1 yI think trans people should ONLY compete against men. That way they can either be on equal footing or at a disadvantage..
They chose to make the changes in their lives so they couldn't be allowed an advantage by competing against women!

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yI could care less. If the woman want to compete with men, let em I say. If the men want to compete with with women. Ask the women to vote on it. If they're OK with it, let em. I mean women probably would right. Someone on a question here today was saying how women are more accepting of transgendered. Now here's there chance to show it.

1 yAs long as they stay out of Ladies' Beach Volleyball - I'm ok with it.
If someone really believes that ''trans'' is a gender, then please let them have their own trans-competitions.
This way... trans gressions can be avoided.

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yNo, I don't think men pretending to be women should be allowed to participate in female sports.
These men are mentally ill and need help. The last thing they need is a bunch of cheerleaders encouraging their fetish.

1 yYou should only be based on if you’re a biological male or female. A guy shouldn’t be able to be mediocre at sports and transition into a woman and get gold medals.
