Absolutely horrible to attack anyone like that. But don't exaggerate or you water down what actually happened and none of it will be taken seriously. She wasn't kidnapped or held for ransom; based on the source you provided, she was swarmed by angry students, physically assaulted by 1, and then security barricaded her in a room away from them. Based on your source.

Obviously the student who assaulted her should face charges. I'm less familiar with any charges for yelling and crowding in a hallway about someone, but I think that's usually what security is there to guard against as that's kind of expected to happen—especially with hot topics like this. Kind of seems like security dropped the ball there allowing so many students to get so close when they were obviously and expectedly angry at the speaker. What if someone had actually come with intent to harm her?

So I'd say overall it was actually really tame that just 1 person hit her a couple times. Again they should face charges for that. They should at least be expelled. But no students should have been able to get anywhere near close enough to hit her in the first place. Everyone knows mob anger is common and expected with all controversial topics like this. I'm honestly shocked she was put in that situation at all.

I saw video of it. The people outside the room were talking about demanding ransom. So granted my source may not mention it, the video of the incident does. This is why i would never be a public speaker, People would have died that night if they attacked me, and in my state i would have been granted the ability to use self defense as a defense.

I don't think talking about demanding a ransom means you kidnapped someone and actually did ask for ransom, when you aren't the people who locked her in the room and didn't actually ask for ransom. But again I think that's beside the point. She shouldn't have been in that situation with those students, ever. Many people give speeches about controversial things and are faced with angry and even actually very violent mobs. But their security usually actually protects them and doesn't let the mob directly in on them and get close enough that someone is able to punch them—especially more than once. Like bad things were done, but they could easily have been prevented. It's crazy that they were just allowed to happen.

Attacking someone simply for holding a different viewpoint seems to be accepted these days, if you're on the left side of things. I never went in a whole lot for this left vs right stuff. I actually once believed we basically wanted the same things, we just had different opinions on how to get there. I don't think so anymore. The people that preach tolerance and acceptance can't seem to come to grips with sharing a world with anyone that dares think differently than them. If you're not approved, violence is okay. She was attacked and held against her will they demanded her to be given to them or some amount of money they were literally saying they are going to murder her stomp her to death rip her apart she was attacked by multiple people and one punched her in the head a man wearing a dress they planned the attack they blocked off both exits with hundreds of students and staff the campus police did nothing she was baracated in that room for over 3 hours while the terrorists were trying to get in. I'm a women's rights advocate I spoke with her agent and I sat through her testimony before Congress.
